This page allows you to bounce the instrument that has been deposited in the bank. Tell me more.
Select the “Bounce Instruments” link under the “Realize Receipt” business component.
The “Bounce Instruments” page appears.
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for the instrument that you want to bounce:
Bank Code |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the bank in which the instrument that you want to bounce has been deposited. All the bank / cash codes that are available for the login organization unit will be available for selection in the ascending order. The bank / cash code must have been defined in the “Create Bank / Cash Details” activity of the “Bank / Cash Definition” business component and must be in “Active” status. |
Remitter |
The name of the person who has issued the instrument (Alphanumeric, 60). |
Collector Code |
The employee code or the name of the person who has collected the instrument (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the instrument numbers that have collector codes similar to the value entered here. |
Instrument No. From |
The starting number in the range of instrument numbers that you want to retrieve (Alphanumeric, 30). The system retrieves all the instrument numbers that are similar to the value entered in this field. |
Note: The number entered in this field must be the same or before the value entered in the “To” field.
To |
The ending number in the range of instrument numbers that you want to retrieve (Alphanumeric, 30). The system retrieves all the instrument numbers that are similar to the value entered in this field. |
Currency |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the currency in which the instrument has been raised. All the currency codes that have been mapped to the company will be available for selection in the ascending order. The system displays the base currency of the company by default at the launch of the page. |
Instrument Date From |
The starting date in the range of dates during which the instrument that you want to bounce must have been raised (Date Format). The system retrieves all the instruments that have been raised on or from the date entered in this field. The system date is displayed by default at the launch of the page. |
Note: The date entered in this field must be before the date entered in the “To” field
To |
The ending date in the range of dates during which the instrument that you want to bounce must have been raised (Date Format). The system retrieves all the instruments that have been raised on or till the date entered in this field. The system date is displayed by default at the launch of the page. |
Receipt Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of receipt from “Customer Receipt”, “HRMS Receipt”, “Sundry Receipt” or “Supplier Receipt”. The system displays “All” by default at the launch of the page. |
Instrument Amount From |
The starting amount in the range of instrument amounts that you want to retrieve (Decimal). The system retrieves all the instruments that have amounts similar to the value entered here. |
Note: The value entered in this field must be lesser than the value entered in the “To” field.
To |
The ending amount in the range of instrument amounts that you want to retrieve (Decimal). The system retrieves all the instruments that have amounts similar to the value entered here. |
Click the “Search” pushbutton to retrieve the instrument information.
The system displays the following in the “Instrument Information” multiline based on the search criteria entered:
Note: The instrument that is retrieved must have a pay-in-slip in the “Deposited” status.
Bank Code |
The code identifying the bank for which the instrument has been deposited. |
Currency |
The code identifying the currency in which the instrument has been issued. |
Instrument No |
The number identifying the instrument. |
Instrument Date |
The date on which the instrument was raised. |
Instrument Amount |
The instrument amount. |
Remitter |
The name of the person who has issued the payment. |
Enter the following fields in the “Instrument Information” multiline:
Reason Code |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the reason for which the instrument was bounced. The reason codes must have been defined in the “Maintain Reason Information” activity of the “Reason Definition” business component and must be in an “Active” status. |

Any observations pertaining to bouncing the instrument (Alphanumeric, 255). |
The system displays the following in the “Instrument Information” multiline:
Receipt Type |
The type of the receipt. It could be “Customer Receipt”, “HRMS Receipt”, “Sundry Receipt” or “Supplier Receipt”. |

Receipt No |
The number identifying the receipt that has been raised for the instrument. This receipt number could be that of a “Customer Receipt”, “HRMS Receipt”, “Sundry Receipt” or “Supplier Receipt”. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark instrument numbers for bouncing.
Click the “Bounce Instruments” pushbutton to bounce the selected instruments.
The system updates the status of the instrument as “Bounced” in the corresponding pay-in-slip.
The system automatically updates the status of the “Customer Receipt”, “HRMS Receipt”, “Sundry Receipt” or “Supplier Receipt” as “Reversed” if the “Automatically reverse receipt on bouncing” is set to “Yes” at the company level provided an adjustment voucher has not been generated.
The system automatically updates the status of the “Customer Receipt”, “HRMS Receipt”, “Sundry Receipt” or “Supplier Receipt” as “To be Reversed” if the “Automatically reverse receipt on bouncing” is set to “No” at the company level. This receipt has to be reversed manually in the respective business component.
“Reason Code” must have been defined in the “Maintain Reason Information” activity of the “Reason Definition” business component.
A “Customer Receipt”, “Sundry Receipt”, “Supplier Receipt” or an “HRMS Receipt” must have been created in the respective business component.
The instrument that have been received must have been deposited in the bank.
