This page allows you to set the criterion to retrieve the sales journal for a company. Tell me more
Select the “Sales Journal” link under the “Reports – Receivable Management” business component.
The “Sales Journal” page appears.
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box:
Company Code |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the company for which you want to view the sales journal. All the companies that are in the “Active” status and have been mapped to the login organization unit will be available for selection. |
Business Unit |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the business unit for which you want to view the sales journal. All the business units that are in the “Active” status and have been mapped to the selected company will be available for selection. |
Finance Book |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the finance book for which you want to view the sales journal. All the finance books that have been deployed in the company will be available for selection. The system displays “All” by default on launch of the page. |
Customer Group |
Use the drop-down list box to select the group to which the customer belongs. All the customer groups that have been defined for the login organization unit will be available for selection. |
Customer Code From |
The starting code in the range of codes identifying customers for whom you want to view the sales journal (Alphanumeric, 18). Mandatory. |
Customer Code To |
The ending code in the range of codes identifying customers for whom you want to view the sales journal (Alphanumeric, 18). |
Currency Option |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of currency in which you want to view the sales journal. You can select from “All”, “Base” or “Parallel Base”. The system displays “All” by default on launch of the page. |
Currency |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the currency in which you want to view the sales journal. All the currency codes that have been assigned to the login company will be available for selection. The system displays “All” by default on launch of the page. |
Transaction Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of transaction for which you want to view the sales journal. |
Item Code |
A unique code identifying the item in which invoices have been raised (Alphanumeric, 32). |
Item Description |
A textual description of the item code (Alphanumeric, 256). |
Date From |
The starting date in the date range for which you want to view the sales journal (Date Format). The date entered in this field must be before the date entered in the “To” field. |
Note: This field must be left blank if “Financial Year” or “Calendar Year” is selected in the “Date Option” field.

The ending date in the date range for which you want to view the sales journal (Date Format). The system date is displayed by default on launch of the page. |

Select the check box to print the entry point page once on the report. |

The starting due date in the range of dates for which you want to view the sales journal (Date Format). The due date entered in this field must be before the due date entered in the “To” field. |

Click the “View Sales Journal” pushbutton to view the sales journal.
The system generates and displays the sales journal based on the search criteria entered. This report can be printed. You can view the details of the company, the customer and the type of the transaction that has taken place between the customer and the organization. You can also view the details of the transaction amounts in the base currency and the parallel base currency of the company, the details of the items and the cash discount that has been availed.
A sales journal is a statutory requirement in some of the countries. It helps the authorities to track the details of the various duties and taxes that are due to the authorities. A sales journal is an operational report that contains the details of all the sales made by the company during a defined time period. This time period could be a financial year, a calendar year or a date range. You can view the details of the sales made in the base currency and the parallel base currency of the company. Apart from this you can also view the details of the documents based on which the sale had occurred. The sales journal can be viewed before being printed.
You can search by selecting the company and the finance book for which you want to view the sales journal. You can search by specifying the range of codes identifying the customers for whom you want to view the journal. You can also select the currency in which you want to view the journal. The system retrieves the journal based on the search criteria entered. You can view the details of the company, the customer and the type of the transaction that has taken place between the customer and the organization. You can also view the details of the transaction amounts in the base currency and the parallel base currency of the company, the details of the items and the cash discount that has been availed.
