Through this activity, you can uniquely define each aspect or attribute of a reimbursement item, which will influence the value to be claimed. For example, when you define the reimbursement item Conveyance, you will identify aspects such as mode of Travel and type of vehicle, which are the various facets of Conveyance. Each of these aspects is termed a parameter of the reimbursement item.
Each parameter you define can be a Numeric or Character type of parameter
Parameters with Character Value: These parameters are to accept non-numeric values. For instance, the parameter Hotel Type can have the following values: Executive, Business, A/C or Non-A/C.
You can use these parameter values for defining rules that will determine the reimbursement item claim value. The stored procedure rule will specify the eligibility value for each combination of parameter values. For example, you can create a rule that when Transport = Air, Hotel Type = Executive, the eligibility value per claim will be $10, 000. You are to carry this out when you map the parameter to a reimbursement item.
Typically, a stored procedure rule can consider the values of multiple parameters, to define the eligibility value for a grade or gradeset and item combination.
Parameters with Numeric Value. These refer to parameters such as Number of Days and Distance Traveled, when the reimbursement item is Conveyance. These parameters will accept only numeric values. The unit of measurement must be specified, as well. Later, when you enter the reimbursement claim in the Reimbursement Claims component, you can enter the actual numeric value, example, 5
Just as for parameters with character value, you can create stored procedures rules that will determine the reimbursement item claim value.
