Through this activity, you can edit a grade set.

Editing a Grade Set: A grade set is a unit, by which the employees in an organization having similar responsibilities, pay structure, leave, facilities, benefits and other perquisites can be quantitatively classified. For example, all managers can be grouped into a grade set and assigned the same compensation, facilities. Similarly, there can be separate grade sets for supervisors, executives, vice-presidents, clerical staff, trainees etc. The grade sets thus created, shape and condition the hierarchical structure of the organization . They facilitate the smooth functioning of the organization as the differences in the pay structure, privileges, benefits etc., among employees can be rationalized on the basis of the grade sets to which they belong.

You can edit the following details of a grade set:

• The short and long descriptions of the grade set.

• The active and inactive status of the grade set.

• The date from which the grade set is effective.

• The organization units to which the grade set should be applicable. You can make the grade set applicable to all, selective or only to the login organization unit.

• The comments pertaining to the details specified.

You can choose the language in which you want to edit the grade set record from the languages in which the grade set record is available. For example, you can edit the French or English version of the grade set record. Correspondingly, the changes you make will be updated only in the selected version of the record.

Apart from editing the necessary details, you can activate or deactivates the grade set and also delete the grade set record. If you activate the grade set, it will be available for use in other activities. If you choose to deactivate, the grade set will not be available for use in other activities.

Translation of record in chosen language: You can also translate the details into any of the available languages. These languages must have been specified during the installation of the application.

If there are four available languages, and you create a grade set in German, the system replicates the grade set record three times , each of which it considers as French, English and Italian records.

When you access these records for the first time, the description is still in the login language German. You can

• Manually translate the description of the grade set, into the chosen language

• Edit all values in the chosen language, except the code of the record. Note that these values are available in the chosen language.
