Ensure that you are in the “Create external assessor” page.
Click on the help icon beside the competency code in the multiline.
The “Help on Competency” page appears.
The system displays the following.
Competency Definition Unit |
The description of the organization in which competency definitions are made. |
Competency Code |
The unique code of the competency. |
Competency Class Description |
The description of the competency class. |
Language |
To view all the assessor records maintained in a specific language, select the specific language. From the “Language” drop-down list box, you can select any other language, to retrieve the record in the selected language. |
Competency Description |
The description of the competency. Examples: presentation skills, communication skills. |
Use this method, if you know just a few characters of the competency element code. In the search criteria group box, specify the search criteria based on which the system will fetch the records.
To specify the search criteria, you can enter one or more characters that the competency code contains. Optionally, you can enter competency element short description to narrow your search. Search based on wild card characters is also supported.
Enter the following fields.
Competency Element Code |
To view all the competency element codes containing specific characters, type in the starting character or characters of these competency element codes. Alternatively, type in these characters in any combination with wild cards. Example: CO1, will search for those competency element codes that start with CO1. Other examples are *CO1, C*O1 and CO1*. |
Competency Element Short Description |
To view all the competency element descriptions containing specific characters, type in the starting character or characters of these competency element descriptions. Alternatively, type in these characters in any combination with wild cards. Example: To get Communication, type in CO*, to search for those competency element descriptions that start with CO. Other examples are *TION, COM*ON, and COMM*. |
Select the search pushbutton to carry out the search.
The system displays the results of the search in the following multiline.

A short description of the competency element. Examples: presentation skills, communication skills. |
Minimum Desired Level |
The minimum extent to which an employee must be proficient in the competency element against the maximum level set in the process parameters. |
Click on the “Select” checkbox corresponding to the required competency details record and select the “OK” pushbutton.
The “Create External Assessor” page reappears.
The selected competency code is displayed in the “Competency Code” column.
