Select the help icon beside the “New Department Code” field.
The “Help on Department” page appears.
A blank multiline appears, containing the following fields: “Department Code”, “Department Short Description”, “Cost Center Code”, “Cost Center Description” and a “Select” check box.
To specify search criteria, enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” fields.
Department Code |
To view all the department codes containing specific character, type in the starting character or characters of these departments codes. |

Alternatively, type in these characters in any combination with wild cards. Examples: DPT1*, D*T1 etc. |
Department Short Description |
To view all the department short descriptions containing specific character, type in the starting character or characters of these departments short descriptions. |

Alternatively, type in these characters in any combination with wild cards. Examples: HR, Fin*, Admin* etc. |
Select the “Search” pushbutton to view the list of department records satisfying these search criteria.
The system displays the following details in the multiline:
Department Code |
The unique code to identify the department. |
Department Short Description |
The short description of the corresponding department. |
Cost Center |
The cost center mapped to the corresponding department. |
Cost Center Description |
The description of the cost center mapped to the corresponding department. |
Click on the “Select” checkbox corresponding to the required department details. After selecting the required department record from the Help multiline, select the “OK” pushbutton.
The “Authorize Employee Promotion/Transfer” page reappears.
The selected department code is displayed in the “New Department Code” field.
Use this page to select the required department code.
