4 Click on the data hyperlink in the employee name column to go to the “Request to Record Assignment Competency” page.

The type of the employee, whether regular, trainee or contractual. |
Department |
The department to which the employee belongs. |
4 The system displays the fields pertaining to competency in the following multiline.
Competency Code |
The unique code of the competency. |
Competency Description |
The description of the competency. Examples: presentation skills, communication skills. |
Competency MDL |
The minimum desired level of the competency. Example: a marketing executive should have competency MDL – 7 for communication skills whereas, it could be competency MDL – 3 for leadership quality. |
Competency Wt. |
Specify the weight of the competency. For the selected employee, the weight of the competency refers to the importance a competency has, in comparison to other competencies, required to perform an assignment. Example: For a project leader, leadership qualities are more important than presentation skills. |
4 On specifying the competency weight and selecting the “Compute Competency Weights (in %)”, the following field is displayed.
Competency Wt. (%) |
The competency weight is displayed in percentage. Example: if the competency weight for sincerity is 5/10, the competency weight in % is 50. |
4 To specify whether a particular competency is mandatory, enter the following field.
Mandatory |
Select “Yes” or “No”, from the drop-down list box. If you select: |

§ “Yes”, you indicate that the particular competency is mandatory for the employee to complete the assignment. |

§ “No”, you indicate that the particular competency is not mandatory for the employee to complete the assignment. |
Request Status |
One of the following options displayed: “Request for Addition”, “ Request for Deletion” and “Request for Editing”. |
4 Select the compute competency weights (in %) pushbutton to find out the results.
Authorization Status |
One of the following options is displayed: “Pending Authorization”, “Authorized” or “Rejected”. If it is: |

§ “Pending authorization”, it denotes that the employee-assignment competency is yet to be authorized through the “Authorize Employment Information” activity. |
|
§ “Authorized”, it denotes that the employee-assignment competency mapping has been authorized through the “Authorize Employment Information” activity. |
|
§ “Rejected”, it denotes that the employee-assignment competency has been rejected. |
Rejection Reason |
The reason for rejection is displayed. Example: Incorrect information given. |
