Recording skill details
Use this page to record the qualification details of an employee.
Ensure that you are in the "Create employee file" or “Record personal information page” page.
Select the “Record employee skill information” link from the bottom of the page
The “Record Employee Skill information” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Date & Time Format |
The date and time format that is applicable to the login user. |
You can view the following in the “Employee details” group box:
HR Set Up Unit |
The HR setup unit applicable to the login employment unit. |
Employee |
The unique employee code and name of the employee. The system displays the value selected in the “Select Employee” page. |
Date of Joining |
The date on which the employee joined the organization |
SSN# |
The social security number of the employee. |
Employee Type |
The type to which the employee belongs. |
Maximum skill level |
The maximum skill level possessed by the employee |
Enter the following details in the “Skill details” multiline:
Skill Code |
A unique code to identify a skill. Help available |
Possessed level |
The level to which the employee possesses the specified skill. |
Applicable Resource Group |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the resource group to which the skill is applicable. The system lists the options “Mechanic”, “Inspector” and “Inspector and Mechanic”. The system leaves this field blank by default. |
Primary/Secondary |
Specify whether the skill is a primary skill or a secondary skill. The system lists the options “Primary” and “Secondary”. |
Note: For the employee, ensure that “Primary” is selected for least one skill code. Also ensure that only one skill is selected as the primary skill. |

Remarks |
Any remarks pertaining to the skill possessed by the employee. |
Select the “Record Employee skill information” pushbutton to save the details entered.
On selecting the “Record Employee skill information” pushbutton, the following details are displayed in the “Skill details”:
Skill |
A short description of the grade. |
Skill Type |
The type under to which the skill belongs. |
Minimum Desired Level |
The minimum desired level of the skill that must be possessed by the employee. From the drop-down list box, select the required value. |
The following details are displayed in the “Record Statistics” group box.
Created by |
The name of the person who created the skill details |
Created Date |
The date on which it was created |
Last modified by |
The name of the person who modified the skill details of the employee. |
Last modified Date |
The date on which the skill details were last modified. |
