Select “Maintain Field Literals Information” from left pane.
The “Maintain Field Literals Information” page appears.
Use this method, to specify search parameters for the field literal details. The system fetches the field literals that match the combination of search parameters you specify, to the multiline in the page. You can use the multiline either to specify new values for a field literal or restore the default value to a field literal which has been modified previously.
To specify the search criteria, you must enter one or more characters that the business process to which the field literal belongs to contains. Optionally, you can enter search criteria for the functional area, default value, current value fields, to narrow your search. Search based on wild card characters is also supported.
Enter the following search criteria values in some or all of the following fields.
Business Process |
To view all the business processes containing specific characters, type in the starting character or characters of these business processes. |

Alternatively, type in these characters in any combination with wild cards. Example. To get Employee Movements, type in EM*, to search for those business processes that start with EM. |
Functional Area |
To view the descriptions of all the functional areas containing specific characters, type in the starting character or characters of these functional areas. |

Alternatively, type in these characters in any combination with wild cards. Example. Sep*, will search for those functional area descriptions that start with “sep” like in Separation. |
Default Value |
To view all the default values containing specific characters, type in the starting character or characters of these default values. |

Alternatively, type in these characters in any combination with wild cards. |
Current Value |
To view all the current values containing specific characters, type in the starting character or characters of these current values. |

Alternatively, type in these characters in any combination with wild cards. |
Select the “Search” pushbutton.
Note:
If only one search criteria value is entered, the system will fetch the
records that satisfy this value.
If more than one search criteria value is entered, the system will fetch
the records satisfying all the specified values.
If you do not enter any value in the search criteria group box and select
the “Search” pushbutton, the system will fetch all the records that are
available.
The system displays the following details in the multiline for the records that satisfy the search criteria specified.
Business Process |
The description of the business process to which the field literal pertains, for example, Employee Movements, Employee Personal Information etc. |
Functional Area |
The description of the functional area in the business process |
Default Value |
The value, which has been set by default to the field literal. |
Current Value |
The current value of the field literal |
The new value which you want to specify to the field literal. Specify the value in the field. |
Select “Yes” from the “Restore Default Value” column corresponding to the required field literal in the “Field Literals Information” multiline.
Select the “Save Field Literals Information” pushbutton to save the details.
