This page allows you to view the financial ratio of a company in the standard format. The financial ratio statement will be generated in the base currency of the company. You can view the balances from the beginning of the financial year or period.
Select the “View Default Financial Ratios” link at the bottom of the “View Default Balance Sheet” page.
The “View Default Financial Ratios” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Finance Book |
The code identifying the finance book. |
Base Currency |
The ISO code identifying the base currency of the company |
Financial Ratios For the Period From |
The starting date in the date range for which the financial ratio statement has been generated. |
To |
The ending date in the date range for which the financial ratio statement has been generated. |
Financial Ratios |
The system displays the following in the “Liquidity Measures” group box:
Current Ratio |
Indicates the ratio of the “Total Current Assets” and “Total Current Liabilities”. |
Quick Ratio |
Indicates the ratio of the “Total Current Assets” excluding the “Inventory” and the “Total Current Liabilities”. |
The system displays the following in the “Working Capital Measures” group box:
Net Working Capital Ratio |
Indicates the ratio of the “Net Working Capital” and the “Total Assets”. |
Note: “Net Working Capital” is calculated as the difference between “Total Current Assets” and “Total Current Liabilities”.
The system displays the following in the “Asset Management Measures” group box:
Inventory Turnover |
Indicates the ratio of the “Net Sales” and the “Average Inventory” when “Average Inventory” is greater than zero. |
Note: “Net Sales” is calculated as the sum of “Sales of Goods” and “Sales of Services”.
Fixed Assets Turnover |
Indicates the ratio of the “Net Sales” and the “Average Fixed Assets” when “Average Fixed Assets” is greater than zero. |
Note: “Net Sales” is calculated as the sum of “Sales of Goods” and “Sales of Services” and the “Net Fixed Asset” as the sum of “Good will”, “Plant, Property and Equipment”.
Fixed Assets to Share Holders Funds |
Indicates the ratio of the “Net Fixed Assets” and “Shareholders Funds” when “Shareholders Funds” is greater than zero. |
Note: “Shareholders Funds” is calculated as the sum of “Share Capital & Premium” and “Reserves & Surplus”.
The system displays the following in the “Profitability Measures” group box:
Net Profit Ratio |
Indicates the percentage of the ratio of “Net Profit” and “Net Sales”. |
Note: “Net Profit” is the same as the “Earnings from Continuing Operations before Taxes”.
Gross Profit Ratio |
Indicates the percentage of the ratio of “Gross Profit” and “Net Sales” when “Sales” is greater than zero. |
Note: “Gross Profit” is the same as the “Earnings from Continuing Operations before Taxes”.
Return on Equity |
Indicates the ratio of the “Net Earnings” and “Shareholders Funds”. |
Note: “Net Earnings” is the same as the “Earnings from Continuing Operations before Taxes”.
The system displays the following in the “Leverage Measures” group box:
Debt Equity Ratio |
Indicates the ratio of “Long Term Borrowings” and “Shareholders Funds”. |
Debt Ratio |
Indicates the ratio of “Debt” and “Total Assets” when “Total Assets” is greater than zero. |
Note: “Debt” is calculated as the sum of “Long Term Borrowings” and “Short Term Borrowings”.
The system displays the following in the “Return on Investment Measures” group box:
Return on Investments |
Indicates the ratio of “Net Earnings” and “Total Assets”. |

Debtors Collection Period |
Indicates the ratio of “Average Debtors X No Of Days” and “Total Sales”. |

Indicates the ratio of “Average Creditors X No Of Days” and “Total Purchases”. |
