Activating / inactivating exchange rate type

This activity allows you to activate or inactivate a selected exchange rate type. You can activate an exchange rate type that is in the “Inactive” status. You can also inactivate an “Active” exchange rate type. You can also enter a date from when the activation or inactivation will be effective. This page allows you to select the exchange rate type that you want to activate or inactivate.

Select the “Activate / Inactivate Exchange Rate Type” link under the “Exchange Rate” business component.

The “Activate / Inactivate Exchange Rate Type” page appears.

The system displays the following:

Status	The status of the exchange rate type. It could be “Active” or “Inactive” based on the exchange rate type selected.
	Active – indicates that the exchange rate type is still in use.
	Inactive – indicates that the exchange rate type is no longer in use.

Select the exchange rate type that you want to activate or inactivate:

Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the exchange rate type that you want to activate or inactivate. All the exchange rate types that are defined will be available for selection. The system displays the exchange rate type set as default in the “Set Function Defaults” page.

A textual description of the exchange rate type.

Enter the following field:

Effective From Date

The date from when the activation or inactivation is effective (Date Format). This date must not be before the system date. The system date is displayed by default at the launch of the page.

Note: You can activate only an “Inactive” exchange rate type.

Click the “Activate” pushbutton to activate the selected exchange rate type.

The system updates the status of the exchange rate type to “Active”.

Note: You can inactivate only an “Active” exchange rate type.

Click the “Inactivate” pushbutton to inactivate the selected exchange rate type.

The system updates the status of the exchange rate type to “Inactive”.

The system displays the following:

Created By	The login ID of the user who has created the exchange rate type.
Created Date	The date on which the exchange rate type was created.
Last Modified By	The login ID of the user who last modified the exchange rate type.
Last Modified Date	The date on which the exchange rate type was last modified.
