Mapping BFG to an organization unit
This page allows you to map a business function group to an organization unit. Tell me more.
Select the “Map BFG – Organization Unit’ link under the “Organization Setup” business component.
The “Map BFG – Organization Unit” page appears.
Enter the following field:
Business Function Group |
Use the drop-down list box to select the business function groups to which an organization unit must be mapped. All the business function groups will be available for selection in the ascending order. |
The system displays the following:
Business Function Group Name |
The name identifying the business function group. |
Enter the following fields:
Effective Date |
The date from which the mapping or the unmappping must be effective (Date Format). The system date is displayed by default at the launch of the page. |
Note: The date entered in this field must be after the date on which company was registered. This date cannot be before the latest period in “ Closed” status. This date must also be later than the date on which the organization unit was mapped to a business unit and the company.
While unmapping the BFG from the organization unit the date entered in this field must be later than the date from which the mapping is effective.
Company Code |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the company in which organization unit to which you want to map the business function group has been defined. All the companies that have been defined and are in the “Active” status will be available for selection in the ascending order. |
The system displays the following:

Enter the following field:
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the organization units that you want to retrieve. You can select from “Map” or “Unmap”. |

The system displays “Unmap” by default at the launch of the page. |
Click the “Get” pushbutton to retrieve the organization unit details.
The system retrieves the details of all the organization units that have been mapped to the selected business function group if “Map” has been selected in the “Status” field.
The system retrieves the details of all the organization units that have not been mapped to a business function group if "Unmap” has been selected in the “Status” field.
Enter the following in the “Org. Units” multiline:

The code identifying the organization unit to which the business unit must be mapped (Alphanumeric, 40). |
The system displays the following in the “Org. Units” multiline:
Org. Unit Desc |
The textual description of the organization unit. |
Start Date |
The date from which the mapping of the organization unit is active. |
End Date |
The date till which the mapping of the organization unit is active. |
Status |
The status of the organization unit mapping. It could be “Mapped” or “Unmapped”. |

Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark an organization unit that has to be mapped or unmapped.
Click the “Map” pushbutton to map the selected organization unit to the selected business function group.
The system maps the business function group to the organization unit. The system also updates the login ID of the user and the system date in the “Created By” and the “Created Date” fields.
Note: The combination of the business function group, organization unit and company must be unique.
Click the “Unmap” pushbutton to unmap the selected organization unit from selected business function group.
The system unmaps the business function group from the organization unit. The system also updates the login ID of the user and the system date in the “Created By” and the “Created Date” fields.
