Activating/Deactivating delivery areas
This page allows you to activate or deactivate the delivery area. Tell me more
Select the “Activate/Deactivate Delivery Area” link under ”Delivery Area” business component.
The “Activate/Deactivate Delivery Area” page appears.
Enter the following field, if you know the exact delivery area code:
Delivery Area Code |
The code identifying the delivery area (Alphanumeric, 18). |
To search for a delivery area
Enter the following field in the “Search Criteria” group box. Data entry in the following field is optional:
Delivery Area Code |
The code identifying the delivery area to be activated or deactivated (Alphanumeric, 18). You can enter the delivery area code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the delivery area codes that are similar to the code entered here. |
Delivery Area Description |
The description of the delivery area (Alphanumeric, 25). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. |
Parent Delivery Area Code |
The code identifying the parent delivery area code (Alphanumeric, 18). You can enter the parent delivery area code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the parent delivery area codes that are similar to the code entered here. |
Parent Delivery Area Description |
The description of the parent area code (Alphanumeric, 25). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. |
Level |
The level at which the delivery area is positioned in the hierarchy (Integer). |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the delivery area. The following options are available: |

Click the “Search” pushbutton to retrieve the delivery area details.
The system displays following in the “Delivery Area Details” multiline:
Delivery Area Code |
The code identifying the delivery area. |
Delivery Area Description |
The description of the delivery area. |
Level |
The level at which the delivery area is positioned in the hierarchy. |
Status |
The status of the delivery area, which could be “Active” or “Inactive”. |
Parent Delivery Area Code |
The code identifying the parent delivery area code. |
Parent Delivery Area Description |
The description of the parent delivery area. |
Enter the following:
Reason Code |
The code identifying the reason due to which delivery area(s) are activated or deactivated (Alphanumeric, 5). Mandatory. The reason code must have been created in the “Create Category“ activity of the “Category Master” business component and must be in “Active” status. |

Any further information pertaining to the delivery area. |
Created By |
The login ID of the user who created the delivery area. |
Created Date |
The date on which delivery area was created. |

The login user who last modified the delivery area details. |
Last Modified date |
The date on which the delivery area details were last modified. |
To activate delivery area(s)
Click the “Activate Delivery Area (S)” pushbutton, to activate the selected delivery area.
Note: Ensure that the selected delivery areas are in “Inactive” status.
The system performs the following after clicking the “Activate Delivery Area(S)” pushbutton:
Updates the status of the activated delivery area code to “Active”.
If the activated delivery area has subsequent lower level delivery areas, then the status for those delivery areas are also updated as “Active”. If the activated delivery area has higher level delivery areas, then the status of those parent delivery areas are also updated as “Active”.
To deactivate delivery area
Click the “Deactivate Delivery Area (S)” pushbutton, to inactivate the selected delivery area.
Note: Ensure that the selected delivery areas are in “Active” status.
The system performs the following after clicking the “Deactivate Delivery Area(S)” pushbutton:
Updates the status of the deactivated delivery area code as “Inactive”.
If the deactivated delivery area has subsequent lower level delivery areas, then the status for those delivery areas are also updated as “Inactive”.
Activating or deactivating delivery areas – An overview
This page allows you to activate or deactivate the delivery area. On activating or deactivating, the system updates the status of the delivery area to “Active” or “Inactive’ respectively.

Activate/Deactivate delivery areas in bulk
You can activate or deactivate delivery areas in bulk. You can activate only those delivery areas, which are in “Inactive” status. You can inactivate a delivery area, which is in “Active” status.
Provide filter criteria to search for delivery areas.
Select the delivery areas to be activated or inactivated, in the multiline.
Click the “Activate Delivery Area(S)” pushbutton, to activate the selected delivery area(s).
The system sets the status of the delivery area(s) as “Active”.
Click the “Deactivate Delivery Area(S)” pushbutton, to inactivate the selected delivery area(s).
The system sets the status of the delivery area(s) as “Inactive”.
