Delivery Area – An Overview

The “Delivery Area” business component facilitates the creation of delivery areas. A delivery area refers to the location at which the goods are delivered to a customer. The delivery area can be a country, state, city or an area within a city.  A delivery area becomes a parent delivery area by assigning child delivery areas under it. The parent delivery area can consist of more than one child delivery area.  The system assigns level numbers to all the delivery areas in the hierarchy. The system updates the level as ‘1’ for the parent delivery area and increments the level number by ‘1’ for all the child delivery areas created under it. So the child delivery areas will be assigned the levels ‘2’, ‘3’, ‘4’ and so on.

This business component also provides you with the option of activating or deactivating the delivery areas at any time.

The delivery areas created in this business component are utilized by various other business components such as Customer Group, Pricing, Carrier, Sale Order, Selling Restrictions and Account Rule Definition.
