Associating cost center / elements between business units
This page allows you to map cost centers and cost elements available in two different business units. Tell me more.
Select the “Associate Inter BU Cost Center / Elements” link under the “Cost Setup” business component.
The “Map Inter BU Cost Centers / Elements” page appears.
Enter the following field:

The system displays the following:
Source Business Unit |
The code identifying the business unit relevant to the login organization unit. |
Enter the following field:
Target Business Unit |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the business unit to which the details must be associated. All the business units that are available in the installation and that are in the “Active” status will be available for selection. The system displays “All” by default on launch of the page. |
Note: The “Auto Map” pushbutton must not be clicked if “CC” or “CC-CE” is selected in the “Mapping Option” field.
Click the “Auto Map” pushbutton to automatically map all the cost centers - cost elements from the login business unit to the selected business unit.
The system maps the cost center and cost element details of the source business unit to the cost centers - cost elements available in the selected target business unit. The system maps the cost center - cost elements if the identification details are the same in both the source and the target business units. The system also updates the login ID of the user and the system date in the “Created By” and the “Created Date” fields.
Enter the following filter criteria in the “Target Cost Center” group box:

Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to retrieve the cost center / cost elements details.
The system retrieves the cost center / cost element as the target cost center / cost element in the “Mapping Details” multiline.
Enter the following fields in the “Default Cost Center / Element” group box:

The code identifying the cost center defined in the login business unit (Alphanumeric, 10). |
Source Cost Element |
The code identifying the cost element defined in the login business unit (Alphanumeric, 32). |
If the cost center / cost element to which
the target cost center / cost element must be mapped is the same then
default the source cost center / cost element in the “Mapping Details”
multiline by entering the fields in the “Default Cost Center / Cost Element”
group box and clicking the “Default” pushbutton.
Click the “Default” pushbutton to default the cost center / cost elements in the “Mapping Details” multiline.
The system retrieves the cost center / cost elements as the source cost center / cost element in the “Mapping Details” multiline.

Note: This field must not be left blank if a value exists in the “Source Cost Center” field. You cannot repeat the cost center if “CC” has been selected as “Mapping Option”.

Note: This field must not be left blank if a value exists in the “Source Cost Element” field. The combination of the cost center – cost element must be unique.

Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select all the source and target cost center and cost elements that must be mapped.
Click the “Map” pushbutton to map all the source and target cost center and cost elements.
The system maps the selected source and target cost centers or the combinations of the source and target cost centers and cost elements. The system also updates the login ID of the user and the system date in the “Created By” and “Created Date” fields.
The system displays the following:

Map cost center – cost elements automatically
Default the source cost center / cost element
You can map a cost center available in the login business unit to a cost center available in another business unit. Similarly, you can also map a combination of cost center – cost element to a combination of cost center – cost element available in another business unit. The system also gives you the facility to automatically map all the cost center – cost elements available in the login business unit to cost center – cost elements available in another business unit. A cost center or cost element can be mapped to a cost center or cost element in another business unit provided the identification details are the same in both the business units.
Set the “Mapping Option” field to “CC” if you want to map only the cost centers.
Set the “Mapping Option” field to “CC-CE” if you want to map the combination of cost centers and cost elements.
Set the “Mapping Option” field to “Automatic Mapping” if you want the system to automatically map the cost center – cost elements.
Map cost center – cost elements automatically
You can map all the cost center – cost elements available in the login business unit to the cost center – cost elements available in the selected business unit. The system maps the cost center – cost elements in both the business units provided the identification details of the cost center – cost elements are the same.
Select the “Automatic Mapping” in the “Mapping Options” field.
Select the business unit to which the cost center – cost elements are to be mapped in the “Target Business Unit” field.
Click the “Auto Map” pushbutton to automatically map all the cost center – cost elements.
The system maps the cost center – cost elements available in the login business unit to the cost center – cost elements available in the selected business unit.
Default the source cost center / cost element
If the cost center / cost element to which the cost center / cost element must be mapped is the same, the system provides you a facility to default the source cost center / cost elements. This facility will ease the entry of data.
Enter the cost center in the “Source Cost Center” field in the “Default Cost Center / Element” group box.
Enter the cost element in the “Source Cost Element” field in the “Default Cost Center / Element” group box.
Click the “Default” pushbutton.
The system retrieves the cost center / cost element in the “Source Cost Center” and “Source Cost Element” fields in the “Mapping Details” multiline.
