Viewing normal / allocation cost element mapping with cost center

This page allows you to view the mapping between a detail cost center and normal / allocation cost elements. You can enter the code identifying the cost center for which you want to view the details of the mapping. You can view the list of normal or allocation cost elements that have been mapped to the cost center. You can also view the properties that have been set for the mapping.

Select the “View Normal / Allocation Cost Element Mapping” link under the “Cost Setup” business component.

The “View Normal / Allocation Cost Element Mapping” page appears.

Enter the following field:

Cost Center	The code identifying the detail cost center for which you want to view the mapping of the normal or allocation cost elements (Alphanumeric, 10).
	Press <Enter> key.
	The system retrieves and displays all the details of the cost center in the relevant fields.

Description

The description of the cost center.

The system displays the following in the “Normal / Allocation Cost Element Details” multiline:

Cost Element	The code identifying the cost element.
Description	The description of the cost element.
Cost Element Type	The type of the cost element. It could be “Normal Cost Element”, or “Allocation Cost Element”.
	Normal Cost Element – indicates the costs of expenses, revenues, investments or liabilities of an organization. These normal cost elements can be mapped to account codes in the “Accounting Setup” business component. Salary, office expenses, stationary, power and fuel could be some typical examples of normal cost elements.
	Allocation Cost Element – indicates the cost elements that can be used as a basis for the allocation process. Number of employees, number of labor hours worked and the number of miles traveled could be typical examples of allocation cost elements.
Effective Date	The date from which the mapping between the cost center and the cost element is effective.
Expiry Date	The date till which the mapping between the cost center and the cost element is effective.
Behavior	Indicates the behavior of the mapping between cost center and the cost element. It could be “Fixed Cost” or “Variable Cost”.
Traceability	Indicates whether the costs are traceable. It could be “Direct” or “Indirect”.

The system displays the following:

Created By	The login ID of the user who created the mapping.
Created Date	The date on which the mapping was created.
Last Modified By	The login ID of the user who last modified the mapping.
Last Modified Date	The date on which the mapping was last modified.

To proceed, carry out the following

Select the “View Account Mapping” link at the bottom of the page to view the details of the account codes that have been mapped to normal cost elements.
Select the “View Activity Cost Element Mapping” link at the bottom of the page to view the details of the activity cost elements that have been mapped to a detail cost center.
