Basics of using Ramco Enterprise Series web page

This page allows you to define a calendar that would be used exclusively for Management Accounting (MAC) purposes. Tell me more.

The “Create MAC Calendar” page appears.

The system displays the following:

Status

The status of the MAC Calendar. It must be “Fresh”. The system updates the status of the calendar when the “Create Calendar” pushbutton is clicked.

 
  • Fresh – indicates a newly created MAC calendar that is yet to be authorized.

Year Code

A unique code identifying the MAC year (Alphanumeric, 10). Mandatory.

Description

A textual description of the MAC year (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory.

Start Date

The date on which the MAC year begins (Date Format). Mandatory. The date entered in this field must be one day after previous MAC year if MAC years already exist in this system.

Note: If “Post Allocation Entries to FB” has been set as “Yes” at the company level, the date entered in this field must match the start date of the corresponding financial year.

End Date

The date on which the MAC year ends (Date Format). Mandatory.

Note: The date entered in this field must be after the date entered in the “Start Date” field.

Frequency

Use the drop-down list box to select the frequency in which the MAC periods must be created. You can select from “Fortnightly", "Monthly", "Quarterly", "Half-Yearly", "Yearly" or “Customize”. The system displays “Monthly” by default on launch of the page.

Number of Days

The number of days a MAC period must constitute (Integer). The number of days must be entered in this field only if “Customize” is selected in the “Frequency” field.

The system generates a unique code identifying the MAC period. The system also generates the start and end dates of the MAC period based on the frequency selected.

Note: If “Customize” is selected in the “Frequency” field, the start and end dates of the MAC periods can be entered manually.

If “Post Allocation Entries to FB” has been set as “Yes” at the company level, the system defaults the start and end dates of the corresponding financial period as the start and end dates of the MAC period.

The system displays the following in the “Period Details” multiline:

Period Code

A unique code identifying the MAC period. This period code would also include the MAC year code for which this period is being created.

Description

A textual description of the MAC period (Alphanumeric, 40).

The system displays the following in the “Period Details” multiline:

Start Date

The date on which the MAC period begins.

End Date

The date on which the MAC period ends.

The system saves the details of the newly created MAC year / period. The status of the newly created MAC year and period is updated as “Fresh”. The system also updates the login ID of the user and the system date in the “Created By” and the “Created Date” fields.

The system displays the following:

Created By

The login ID of the user who created the MAC calendar.

Created Date

The date on which the MAC calendar was created.
