Activating / inactivating cost center structure

This page allows you to activate the cost center structure. You can activate a cost center structure that is in the “Inactive” status. The system updates the status of the cost center structure as “Active”. The system also stores the login ID of the user and the system date along with the modified cost center structure details.

This page also allows you to inactivate the cost center structures. You cannot inactivate a default cost center structure. You can inactivate a cost center structure that is in the “Active” status. The system updates the status of the cost center structure as “Inactive”. The system also stores the login ID of the user and the system date along with the modified cost center structure details.

Select the “Activate / Inactivate” link provided in the “Select Cost Center Structure” page.

The “Activate / Inactivate Cost Center Structure” page appears.

The system displays the following in the “Structure Type Details” group box:

Cost Center Structure ID	The code identifying the cost center structure.
Description	The description of the cost center structure.
Status	Indicates the status of the cost center structure. It could be “Active” or “Inactive”.
	Active – indicates that the cost center structure is under effective use.
	Inactive – indicates that the cost center structure is not under use.
Structure Type	Indicates the type of cost center structure. It could be “Default” or “Alternate”.
Effective Date	The date from which the cost center structure is effective.
Expiry Date	The date till which the cost center structure is effective.

The system displays the following in the “Structure Details” multiline:

Level	The number identifying the hierarchy level in which the cost center / unit is available in the structure.
Cost Center / Unit	The code identifying the cost center / unit.
Description	The description of the cost center / unit.
Parent Cost Center / Unit	The code identifying the parent cost center / unit to which cost center has been mapped.

Note: “Blank” would be displayed in this field if the cost center does not have a parent cost center / unit.

Note: You can activate only a cost center structure that is in the “Inactive” status.

Click the “Activate” pushbutton to activate the cost center structure.

The system updates the status of the structure as “Active”. The system stores the login ID of the user and the system date along with the modified details.

Note: You can inactivate only a cost center structure that is in the “Active” status. You cannot inactivate a “Default” cost center structure.

Click the “Inactivate” pushbutton to inactivate the cost center structure.
