Edit Cost Element – A summary of the activity

You can search and select the cost element for which you want to modify the details. If you know the code identifying the cost element you can enter it directly.  Otherwise, you can carry out a search by specifying the type of cost element and a range of cost elements that you want to retrieve. You can also search by specifying the login ID of the user. The system retrieves the details of the cost elements based on the search criteria entered.

You can modify almost all the details of the cost element except the code identifying the cost element. However if MAC entries have been posted and balances are available for the cost element, you cannot modify the type of the cost element, the unit of measurement and the date range during which the cost element is effective. The system saves the modifications made to the cost element. The system also stores the login ID of the user and the system date along with the modified details.
