Setting methods for rounding off values

This page allows you to set the method in which the values must be rounded off. The method that is set in this page would be followed throughout the Ramco Enterprise Series.  You can set the type of values that must be rounded off and the significant value to which it must be rounded off. The system saves the details of the methods. The system also saves the login ID of the user and the system date along with the set values.   

The “Set Rounding Off Methods” page appears.

Business Function Group

Use the drop-down list box to select the business function group for which you want to set the method in which the values must be rounded off. All the business function groups that have been mapped to the login organization unit and all the organization units that have been mapped to the login organization unit will be available for selection. 

Value Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the type of value that must be rounded off. You can select from “Value”, “Quantity”, “Exchange Rate” or “Rate”.

 
  • Quantity – indicates that all the quantity figures would be rounded off in the indicated method.

 
  • Value – indicates that all the calculated amounts would be rounded off in the indicated method.

 
  • Exchange Rate – indicates that all the exchange rate values would be rounded off in the indicated method.

 
  • Rate – indicates that all the unit rates would be rounded off in the indicated method.

Currency

Use the drop-down list box to select the currency for which you want to round off the type of value. All the currencies that have been set as assigned currencies will be available for selection.

Method

Use the drop-down list box to set the method in which the rounding off must be made. You can select from “Floor”, “Ceil” or “Nearest”.

 
  • Floor – indicates that the type of value must be rounded down to the nearest multiple of significance.

 
  • Ceil – indicates that the type of value must be rounded off to the nearest integer or to the nearest multiple of significance.

 
  • Nearest – indicates that the type of value must be rounded off to the nearest value.

Significance

A multiple of the value to which the value type must be rounded off (Integer). The value entered in this field must be equal to or greater than zero. For example for an exchange rate 6.75 if the rounding off method has been set as “Ceil” and the significance value has been set as 1 then the system would round off 6.75 to 10.

The system saves the rounding off methods that have been set.  The system also stores the details of the business unit and company along with the rounding off methods. The system saves the login ID of the user and the system date along with the set methods.
