Competency Definition Unit |
The description of the competency definition unit selected in the previous page. |
Competency Element Code |
The code of the competency element selected in the previous page. |
The language you selected in the previous page is displayed. From the “Language” drop-down
list box, you can select any other language, |
Competency Class Description |
The description of the competency class to which the selected competency element belongs. |
Competency Element Short Description |
A brief description of the competency element. For example, if the description of the competency element is ‘Knowledge of Safety Measures’, you can specify the short description as Kndg of Sfty Msrs or Knowledge of Sft Msrs etc.

Competency Element Long Description |
An elaborate description of the competency element. For example, if the competency element pertains to safety measures, you can specify in detail the area to which the safety measures pertain to like ‘Industrial Safety Measures’ etc. |
Trainable |
Indicates if the competency element is trainable or otherwise. “Yes” indicates that the competency element is trainable. “No” indicates otherwise. |
Inactive |
Indicates if the competency element details are active and available for use in other activities, or otherwise. “Yes” indicates that the details are active and available for use, “No” indicates otherwise. |
Minimum Desired Level |
The minimum desired level(MDL) of a competency indicates the minimum extent to which the competency must be present in an employee. For example, if the MDL for the competency “Communication Skills” is 3 or 4, it indicates the minimum extent to which the competency must be present in the employee. In this example, the maximum value of the competency is set as 5, in the system parameters. |
Maximum Level |
The maximum value set for the competency level in the process parameters. |
Comments |
Any additional comments entered with regard to the competency element details. |
