Recording indirect work hours information for an employee
This page, you can record the non-working hours or idle time for an employee for a given date. Tell me more.
Select the “Record In-Direct Work Time” link at the bottom of the “Record Employee Time Sheet” page.
The “Record In-Direct Work Time” page appears.
The system displays the following field:
Date & Time Format |
The format in which the date and time fields are displayed. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date and time format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
The system displays the following in the “Employee Details” group box:
Employee # |
The employee code of the logged in user. |
Employee Name |
The name of the employee. |
Enter the following:
Worked Date |
The date for which the employee is entering the indirect work hours (Date Format). Mandatory. The date entered in this field should be earlier than or equal to the current server date. The system sets the current server date as the default value. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to retrieve the indirect work hours for the employee for the specified date.
The system displays the following on clicking the “Get Details” pushbutton:
Tot. Break Duration (Hrs) |
The total break hours reported by the employee for the date specified in the “Date” field. If the employee has already reported any actuals for the current date, the system displays the reported number of hours in this field. |
Enter the following in the “In-Direct Working Hour Details” multiline:
From Time |
The time from which the employee was not working for the date specified in the “Worked Date” field (Time Format). Mandatory. |
The system displays the following field: |

End Date |
The ending date in the range of dates for which the employee is reporting the in-direct work hour details. |
Note: Ensure that the date range specified by the “Worked Date” and “End Date” fields, is within the date range of the work order/task.

To Time |
The time until which the employee was not working for the date specified in the “Worked Date” field (Time Format). The time entered in this field must be later than the time entered in the “From Time” field. Data entry in this field is mandatory if the “From Time” or “Break Duration (Hrs)” field is entered. |
Break Duration (Hrs) |
The total break hours or indirect work hours of the employee for the date entered in the “Worked Date” field. Data entry in this field is mandatory, if the “From Time” or “To Time” field is entered. Ensure that the value entered here is positive. |
Note: Ensure that the leave is not approved for the employee for the date specified in the “End Date” field, and for the time range specified in the “From Time” and “To Time” fields.
Note: The time entered in this field must be equal to the difference between the time entered in the “From Time” and “To Time” field.
Employee Comments (Break Hrs) |
Any comments or remarks given by the employee, against the work order or tasks, while updating the indirect work hours. (Alphanumeric, 2000). |
In-Direct Category |
Use the drop-down list box to select the in-direct category. The system lists all the active quick codes of the type “In-Direct Category” as defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity of the “Hangar Work Order” business component. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
Attendance Type |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the attendance type for the employee. The system lists the option “Normal” indicating the standard working hours defined for the employee, and all the active quick codes identified for “Attendance Type” in the “Work Center” business component, along with the inactive attendance types. The system displays “Normal” by default. |

Timesheet Status |
The status of the timesheet, which could be one of the following:

Update Mode |
The mode by which the in-direct work hour details are recorded. |
Click the “Record In-Direct Hours” pushbutton to update the non-working hours for the employee.
The system performs the following:
Updates the timesheet status for the newly added records as “Fresh”, if the “Confirmation of Timesheet Records” and “Authorization of Timesheet Records” are set as “Required” in the “Set Options” activity of the current business component.
Updates the timesheet status for the newly added records as “Confirmed”, if the “Confirmation of Timesheet Records” is set as “Not Required” and if the “Authorization of Timesheet Records” is set as “Required” in the “Set Options” activity.
Updates the timesheet status as “Not Required”, if the “Confirmation of Timesheet Records” and “Authorization of Timesheet Records” are set to “Not Required” in the “Set Options” activity.
Note: If the “Authorization of Timesheet Records” is set to “Not Required” in the “Set Options” activity of the current business component, the system updates the “Billable?” field to “Yes” in the “Edit/Authorize Labor Hours” activity of the “Component Work Reporting” business component.
“Break Duration (Hrs)” is calculated automatically, if the “From Time” and “To Time” fields are entered.
“To Time” is calculated automatically, if the “From Time” and “Break Duration (Hrs)” fields are entered.
“From Time” is calculated automatically, if the “To Time” and “Break Duration (Hrs)” fields are entered.
For the time range and worked date specified, the system ensures that no other in-direct work hour is reported for the same employee.
For the date and time range specified, the system decrements the indirect work hours from the actual working hours, reported by the employee, for a work order/task which is in “In-progress” or “Completed” status.
If the in-direct work hours are reported in the clock mode for an employee, and if any timesheet record for that employee is modified, the system changes the update mode from “Clock” to”Manual”, and saves the modified details.

In this page, you can record the non-working hours or idle time for an employee for a given date. You must specify the date for which the non-working hours are recorded for the employee. You can specify the break duration of the employee by specifying the starting and the ending time.
The system updates the details and stores the name of the currently logged in user and the current server date.
