Basics of using a typical web page

Using Online Help

In this page, you can report parameter values. Tell me more.

The “Record Parameter Values” page appears.

Note: This page cannot be invoked if the work order selected in the previous page is in “Closed”, “Pre-Closed”, “Cancelled” or “Returned” status.

The system displays the following field:

Date & Time Format

The format in which the date and time fields are displayed. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date and time format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default.

The system displays the following in the “Work Order Details” group box:

Visit Package #

The visit package to which the work order is associated.

Aircraft Reg #

The aircraft for which the visit package is applicable.

Work Order #

The work order number selected in the “Record Inspector Sign-Off” page.

Job Type

The type of the job, which could be “On-Wing”, “Aircraft” or “Component Removal”.

Last Updated Date

The date on which the parameter update was last done for the work order.

The system displays the following in the “Component Details” group box:

Component #

The component ID associated to the work order.

Part #

The part number of the component.

Serial #

The serial number of the component.

Part Description

The textual description of the part.

Zoom facility available.

Task #

Use the drop-down list box to select the task for which the parameters must be recorded. The system lists all the tasks associated with the work order.

The system displays the following in the “Update Option” group box:

Task Description

The textual description of the task.

Sub Task Seq #

Use the drop-down list box to select the sub task. The system lists all the sub tasks associated with the task selected. By default, the system leaves the field blank.

The system displays the following in the “Update Option” group box:

Sub Task Description

The textual description of the sub task.

Parameter Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the parameter to be retrieved, which could be “Technical”, “Attribute”, “Range”, “Non Standard” or “Consumption”. Leave this field blank to search irrespective of the parameter type. The system leaves the field blank by default.

The system lists “Non Standard” for the “Task #” selected, only if there are non-standard parameters for the task in the “Maintenance Task” business component.

Maint. Object Type

Use the drop down list box to select the type of the maintenance object type to be retrieved, which could be “Aircraft” or “Component”.

The system sets this field to “Aircraft” by default, if the job type is “Aircraft”. Else the system sets this field to “Component” by default.

Note: If the “Job Type” is “On Wing” and the “Component ID” is displayed, the system retrieves the parameters associated to the component.

If the “Job Type“ is “Aircraft:, the system retrieves the parameters associated to the aircraft.

If the “Job Type” is “On Wing” and the “Component ID” field is left blank, the parameters associated to the aircraft are displayed.

Def. As Of Date

The default date, for reporting the parameter values in the multiline (Date format). The system displays the current system date, by default.

Def. As Of Time

The default time, for reporting the parameter values in the multiline (Time format). The system displays the current system time, by default.

Def. Reported by

The employee code of the user who reports the parameter values in the multiline. The system displays the employee code of the login user, by default.

Note: If the “Updated Date”, “Updated Time” and “Reported By” fields are left blank for the parameters in the multiline, the system sets the “Def. As Of Date”, “Default As Of Time” and “Def. Reported by” in the respective multiline columns. This type of updation is done, when the same user updates several parameters in the multiline on the same date and time.

The system displays the following in the “Parameter Details” multiline:

Parameter

The parameter number associated to the aircraft or component.

Parameter Type

The type of the parameter, which could be “Technical”, “Attribute”, “Range”, “Consumption” or  “Non Standard”.

UOM

The unit of measurement for the parameter.

Current Value

The present value of the parameter.

Updated Value

The reported value of the parameter (Alphanumeric, 32). Data entry in this field is mandatory if the “Updated Date” and “Updated Time” fields are specified.

For “Consumption” and “Range” parameters, ensure that the value entered in this field is numeric. For “Attribute” parameters, ensure that the value is a valid attribute as defined in the “Aircraft” business component.

Help facility available.

Updated Date

The date on which the parameter value is reported (Date Format). Mandatory.

Updated Time

The time at which the parameter value is reported (Time Format). Mandatory.

Note: If you leave the “Updated Date”, “Updated Time”, “Def. As Of Date” and “Def. As Of Time” fields blank, the system sets the current server date and time as the reported date and time.

Update Mode

Use the drop-down list box to select the mode by which the parameter value has to be updated. Mandatory. The system lists the following options:

  • Delta – Select this option to indicate that the new parameter value must be added with the existing parameter value.

  • New – Select this option to indicate that the old parameter value must be overwritten with the new parameter value.

The system displays the following:

Updated By

The name of the user who updated the parameter value.

Range: From

The minimum number in the range of values for a range parameter. The system displays this field only when the parameter type is “Consumption” or “Range”.

Range: To

The maximum number in the range of values for a range parameter. The system displays this field only when the parameter type is “Consumption” or “Range”.

Parameter Description

The textual description of the parameter.

Note: At least one parameter must be entered in the multiline.

The system updates the parameter values against the work order. The system sets the last updated date of the work order to the current server date.

Recording parameter values – An overview

Sign-Off Tasks - A summary of the activity

Depending on the maintenance jobs carried out on the aircraft and it’s components, there might be a need to update certain parameters. For example, on execution of certain prescribed modifications, the weight and moment of the aircraft needs to be measured and recorded. While the aircraft is on ground, the APU might be used to supply power to all the required systems, in which case the APU run hours need to be updated. Test runs of critical components such as engines might also be carried out. In these examples, the values of various parameters such as APU run hours and the weight and moment of the aircraft, must be updated. The parameter values can be updated as part of the work order-task or visit package.

In this page, you can report parameter values. The system displays the work order details and the component details if a component ID is associated to the work order. You can select the parameter type for which the parameter value has to be reported.

The system displays the parameters that are associated to the aircraft or component depending upon the job type of the work order and the parameter type you select in this page. You can specify the parameter value and the date and time at which the parameter value is reported. You are also provided with the option of specifying the default reporting date and time and the name of the person who is reporting the parameter value, when multiple parameters have the same reported date, time and the user.

The system stores the parameter value and updates the last updated date for the work order as the current server date.
