The “Edit Serial Number & Lot Number Information” page appears.

Note: This page can be invoked only if the return slip contains parts that are "Lot Controlled", "Serial Controlled", or "Lot & Serial Controlled".

The number identifying the return slip. This number is automatically generated and displayed by the system at the time of creating return slip, with the numbering type selected.

Note:  Leave this field blank for the part that is “Lot Controlled”.

Ensure that the serial number is not repeated in the multiline, if the part is “Serial Controlled”.

Return Lot #

Help facility available.

Note:  Leave this field blank for the part that is “Serial Controlled”.

Ensure that the lot number is not repeated in the multiline, if the part is “Lot Controlled”.

Also ensure that the serial number and lot number combination is not repeated in the multiline, if the part is “Lot & Serial Controlled”.

Return Qty.

The quantity of the part, which is being returned to the warehouse for which the material slip is created (Integer). Ensure that the value entered is positive.

If the returned part is of part control type “Lot Controlled”, then the system ensures that the returned quantity is not greater than the issued quantity.

Note: You cannot modify the serial number, lot number and return quantity, that are automatically retrieved for the returned parts from the “Create Return Slip” page or from the “Record Component Replacement Information” page of the “Hangar Work Reporting” business component.

Return Classification

Use the drop-down box to specify the return classification. The system lists the quick codes defined under the category "Return Classification" in the Stock Return component.

Note: For parts with Part Control Type “None Controlled”, you must not specify any value in the Return Classification field for a part with if; a) the “Return Valuation Based On Return Classification” is set to “Yes” in the “Set Options” activity of the Stock Maintenance component and, b) the Return Basis is “Returnable”.

Note: For parts with Part Control Type “None Controlled”, the Valuation Method must be defined in the “Set Options” activity of the Stock Maintenance component for a Return Classification, Return Basis and Expense Basis combination for parts with Issue Basis other than “Returnable” and Material Type other than “Main Core”.

Similarly, if the return stock status is not “PBH” in the “Issue Details” group box, the component specified by the part number and serial-lot number combination must contain the possession status other than “PBH” and ownership other than “Supplier” in the “Aircraft” business component.

On clicking the "Edit Information" pushbutton, the system performs the following:

  1. If the returned quantity entered in this page is less than the “Pending Return Quantity” specified in the “Record Parts Consumption Information” page, the system increments the “Returned Quantity” and “Returned Quantity – Excess” and decrements the “Pending Return Quantity” and “Pending Return – Excess” in the “Record Parts Consumption Information” page.

  2. If the returned quantity entered in this page is greater than or equal to the “Pending Return Quantity” specified in the “Record Parts Consumption Information” page, the system increments the “Returned Quantity” and “Returned Quantity – Excess” and updates the “Pending Return Quantity” and “Pending Return – Excess” to “0”.

  1. If the returned part number and serial number combination is the same as the issued part number and serial number combination, the system increments the “Returned Quantity” and “Returned Quantity – Excess” and decrements the “Pending Return Quantity” and “Pending Return – Excess” in the “Record Parts Consumption Information” page.

  2. If the returned part number and serial number combination is different from the issued part number and serial number combination, the system increments the “Returned Quantity” and “Returned Quantity – Core” and decrements the “Pending Return Quantity” and “Pending Return – Core” in the “Record Parts Consumption Information” page.
