Help on Work Order
Hangar work order acts as a communication between the planner / supervisor and the execution personnel. The hangar work order contains maintenance work planning of both routine and non-routine maintenance activities.
This Help page allows you to search and select a work order and transfer the same to the field in which it is required.
You can carry out the search using the work order number, description, visit package, work center, job status, user status, aircraft number, component, work order type, job type, work order category and class. The system retrieves all the work orders based on the search criteria entered. On confirmation, the selected work order is transferred to the required page.
Click the lens icon positioned next to the “Work Order #” field in the main page.
The “Help On Work Order” page appears.
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box, to search for a work order:
Work Order # |
The number that identifies the work order that you need to retrieve (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the work order number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the work orders that are similar to the number entered here. Leave this field blank, to retrieve all the work orders. |
Work Order Description |
The textual description of the work order that you need to retrieve (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the work orders whose descriptions are similar to the value entered here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the work order irrespective of the description. Zoom facility available. |
Visit Package # |
The number identifying the visit package (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the work orders that are associated with the visit packages whose number is similar to the value specified here. Leave this field blank, to search for all the work orders irrespective of the visit packages. |
Work Center # |
The code that identifies the work center in which the work order is executed (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the work orders that are associated with the work center entered here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the work orders irrespective of the work center. |
Job Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the job status of the work order. The system provides the options “Fresh”, “Scheduled”, “Cancelled”, “In-Progress”, "Sch. & In-Progress", “Completed”, “Pre-Closed”, “Closed” and “Reversed”. The system retrieves all the work orders whose job status is similar to the value specified here. Leave this field blank, to retrieve all the work orders irrespective of the job status. |
User Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the user-defined status of the work order. The system lists all the quick codes of type “WO - User Status” defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity of the current business component. The system retrieves all the work orders whose user status is similar to the value specified here. Leave this field blank, to retrieve all the work orders irrespective of the user-defined status. |
Aircraft Reg # |
The registration number of the aircraft (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the aircraft registration number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the work orders associated with the aircraft whose number is similar to the value specified here. Leave this field blank, to search for all work orders irrespective of the aircraft. |
Component # |
The component against which the work order is raised (Alphanumeric, 90). You can enter the component number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the work orders associated with the component number similar to the value specified here. Leave this field blank, to search for all work orders irrespective of the aircraft. |
Order Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the work order. The system provides the option, “Planned” and “Unplanned”. The system retrieves all the work orders of the type specified here. Leave this field blank, to retrieve all the work orders irrespective of the work order type. |
Job Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the job type of the work order. The system provides the option, “Aircraft”, “On-wing” and “Component Removal”. The system retrieves all the work orders whose job type is similar to the type specified here. Leave this field blank, to retrieve all the work orders irrespective of the job type. |
WO Category |
Use the drop-down list box to select the category to which the work order belongs. The system lists all the “active” quick codes of the type “WO Category” as retrieved from the "Create Visit Category" activity of the "Central Planning" business component. Leave this field blank, to retrieve all the work orders irrespective of the category. |
WO Class |
Use the drop-down list box to select the class to which the work order belongs. The system lists “Normal” and “Corrective”, as options. Leave this field blank, to retrieve all the work orders irrespective of the work order class. |
Customer # |
The number identifying the customer, who owns the aircraft (Alphanumeric, 18). |
Customer Name |
The name of the customer owning the aircraft (Alphanumeric, 40). |
Note: Leave all the fields blank, to retrieve all the work orders available in the database.
Click the “Search” pushbutton, to search for the work order.
The system displays the following in the “Search Results” multiline, based on the search criteria entered.

Job Status |
The job status of the work order. |
User Status |
The user-defined status of the work order. |
Aircraft Reg # |
The registration number of the aircraft for which the work order is raised. |
Visit Package # |
The number identifying the visit package created for the aircraft. |
Work Center # |
The number that identifies the work center in which the work order is executed. |
Job Type |
The job type of the work order, which could be “Aircraft”, “On Wing” or “Component Removal”. |
Order Type |
The type of the work order, which could be “Planned” or “Unplanned”. |
WO Class |
The class to which the work order belongs, which could be “Corrective” or “Normal”. |
Component # |
The number that identifies the component on which the work order is raised. |
WO Category |
The category to which the work order belongs. |
Work Order Description |
The textual description of the work order. |
Customer # |
The number identifying the customer, who owns the aircraft. |
Customer Name |
The name of the customer owning the aircraft. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline, to select a work order.
Click the “OK” pushbutton.
