Help on Part
This help page allows you to search and select a part and transfer the same to the field in which it is required.
You can carry out the search using the part number, description, type, category, keyword, ATA chapter and base part number. You can also specify whether to retrieve all the parts or only those parts against which some pending quantity need to be issued. The system retrieves all the parts based on the search criteria entered. On confirmation, the selected part is transferred to the required page.
Select Click the lens icon positioned next to the “Part #” field in the main page.
The “Help On Part” page appears.
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for a part:
Part # |
The code identifying the part number you wish to retrieve (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the part numbers that are similar to the value entered here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the parts. |
Part Description |
The description of the part you wish to retrieve (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the part numbers that have part description similar to the value entered here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the parts irrespective of the description. Zoom facility available. |
Part Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the part you wish to retrieve. The system displays from “Raw Material”, “Component”, “Expendable”, “Tool”, “Consumable” and “Kit”. The system retrieves all the parts of the type specified here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the parts irrespective of the part type. |
Part Category |
Use the drop-down list box to select the category of the part you wish to retrieve. The part category must be have been defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity in the “Part Administration” business component and must be in “Active” status. The system retrieves all the parts of the category specified here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the parts irrespective of the category. |
Key Word |
The key word of the part you wish to retrieve (Alphanumeric, 25). You can enter the key word in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the parts that have key words similar to the value entered here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the parts irrespective of the key word. |
ATA # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the ATA chapter number associated to the part you wish to retrieve (Alphanumeric, 16). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the parts that are associated to the ATA number entered here. Leave the field blank to retrieve all the parts irrespective of the ATA chapter number. |
Base Part # |
The code identifying the base number of the part you wish to retrieve (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the part numbers that have base part numbers similar to the value entered here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the parts irrespective of the base part number. |
Search For |
Use the drop-down list box to select the basis on which the parts are searched. The system displays the options 'All Parts' and 'Pending Parts'. The system sets this field to 'All Parts', by default. |
Note: Leave all the fields blank to retrieve all the part numbers available in the database.
Click the “Search” pushbutton, to search for the parts.
The system displays the following in the “Search Results” multiline, based on the search criteria entered.

The number identifying the part. |
Part Description |
The description of the part. |
Part Type |
The type of the part. It could be “Raw Material”, “Component”, “Expendable”, “Tool”, “Consumable” or “Kit”. |
Part Category |
The category of the part. |
Base Part # |
The base part number of the part. |
Manufacturer Part # |
The manufacturer part number. |
ATA # |
The number identifying the ATA chapter associated to the part. |
Key Word |
The keyword used for identifying the part easily. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select a part number.
Click the “OK” pushbutton.
