Short-closing material request for the selected part
In this page, you can short-close a material request for a selected part that is no longer required for the execution of the work order task. Tell me more.
Select the “Selective Short-close” link in the “Short-Close Maintenance Material Request” page.
The “Selective Short-close” page appears.
The system displays the following field:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields are displayed. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
The system displays the following in the “Material Request Details” group box:
Material Request # |
The maintenance material request selected in the previous page. |
Status |
The status of the maintenance material request, which could be “Fresh” or “Authorized”. |
Need Date |
The date on which the requested quantity is required or consumed. |
MR Priority |
The priority of the material request, which could be either “Normal” or “AOG”. |
Warehouse # |
The warehouse from where the stock can be collected. |
Work Center # |
The work center to which the material is issued. |
Enter the following fields:
Part # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the part for which you need to short-close the material request. The system lists all the parts that are requested in the selected material request. |
Display Options |
Use the drop-down list box to specify whether you need to retrieve work order or work order tasks. The system provides the options, “By Work Order” and “By WO - Task”. The system displays “By Work Order” by default. Select “By Work Order”, if you wish to retrieve all the work orders whose job status is not “Closed”. Select “By Task”, if you wish you to retrieve all the work order tasks whose job status is not “Closed”. |
Click the “Get Details’ pushbutton to retrieve work orders or work order tasks for the selected part.
The system displays the following in the “Work Order / Task Details” multiline:
Work Order # |
The work order retrieved by the system. |
Task # |
The number identifying the task in the work order. This field is left blank in the multiline, if the “Display Option” is “By Work Order”. |
WO Priority |
The priority of the work order, which could be either “Normal” or “AOG”. |
Task Priority |
The priority of the task. This field is left blank in the multiline, if the “Display Option” is “By Work Order”. |
Reqd. Qty |
The total quantity of parts required to complete the task. |
Requested Qty |
The total quantity of parts requested in the material request. |
Pending Request Qty |
The remaining requested quantity of parts that needs to be issued. |
Issued Qty |
The quantity of parts issued. |
Enter the following field:
Comments |
Any additional remarks pertaining to the material request (Alphanumeric, 255). |
The system displays the following:
Task Description |
The textual description of the task. |
Work Order Description |
The textual description of the work order. |
Enter the following fielding the “Notes” group box:
Pre-Closing Comments |
Any additional remarks pertaining to the short closing of the material request for the selected part (Alphanumeric, 255). Mandatory. Zoom facility available. |
Click the “Short-close” pushbutton to short-close the selected the material request for the selected part.
The system performs the following:
Deletes the firm demand created for the selected part in the material request.
Updates the status of the material request to “Short Closed” in the “Material Request” business component, only if all the line items have been short closed.
If there are issue documents in the “Draft” or “Fresh” status for the short closed part, the system cancels the issue quantity corresponding to the short closed quantity for the part.
Updates the name of the login user and the current server date as the last modified date.
Short-closing material request for the selected part – An overview
In this page, you can short-close a material request for a selected part that is no longer required for the execution of the work order task. You can select the part for which you need short-close the material request. The system displays all the work orders containing the selected part. You can also select the display option, that is, whether the system should display the work order or the work order tasks.
On short closing the material request for the selected part, the system reduces the required quantity of the part to the pre-closed quantity. The system sets the status as “Preclosed”.
