Help on Warranty Reference

This page allows you to retrieve the details of the component warranty reference documents that are already created. You can carry out a search based on the warranty reference number, warranty type, warranty category, component type, part number, part serial number, component ID, part description, supplier number and supplier name. Details such as the warranty reference number, warranty type, service description, warranty category, start and end dates of warranty coverage, part number, part serial number, component ID, part description, component type, supplier number and supplier name are displayed.

Click the lens icon positioned next to the “Warranty Reference #” field in the main screen.

The “Help on Warranty Reference #” page appears.

The system displays the following field:

Date Format

The format in which the date field is displayed. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the "Enterprise Modeling" business component by default.

Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for a component warranty reference. Data entry in the following fields is optional:

Warranty Reference #	The code identifying the component warranty reference (18). You can enter the component warranty number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all component warranty reference numbers that are similar to the number entered here.
Warranty Type	Use the drop-down list box to select the warranty type for the part. The system lists the options "New", "OEM", "Overhaul" and "Repair". The system retrieves the component warranty reference documents that have the warranty type selected here.
Warranty Category	Use the drop-down list box to select the category to which the warranty belongs. The system lists all the quick codes of type "Warranty Category". The warranty reference documents of the category selected here are retrieved.
Component Type	Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the component, which can be “Engine”, “APU”, “Landing Gear” and “Others”. The system retrieves all component warranty reference documents with the component type selected here.
Part #	The part to which the component belongs (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the part number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all component warranty reference documents that have the part number entered here.
Part Serial #	The serial number of the component for which the component warranty is created (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the part serial number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all component warranty reference documents with the part serial number entered here.
Component #	The number identifying the component for which the component warranty reference document is created (Alphanumeric, 90). You can enter the component ID in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all component warranty reference documents with the component ID entered here.
Part Description	The textual description of the part (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all component warranty reference documents whose descriptions are similar to the description entered here.
Supplier #	The code identifying the supplier who gives the warranty coverage (Alphanumeric, 45). You can enter the supplier code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all component warranty reference documents with the supplier code entered here.
Supplier Name	The name of the supplier who gives the warranty coverage (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the supplier name in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the component warranty reference documents with the supplier name entered here.

Click the "Search" pushbutton to display the search results.

Note: The system retrieves only the component warranty reference documents in the "Confirmed" status.

The system displays the following details in the "Search Results" multiline:

Warranty Reference #	The warranty reference document created for the component.
Warranty Type	The warranty type for the part, which could be "New", "OEM", "Overhaul" or "Repair".
	New - indicates that the supplier gives the warranty.
	OEM - indicates that the OEM gives the warranty.
	Overhaul - indicates that the supplier has given the warranty for overhaul.
	Repair - indicates that the supplier has given the warranty for repair.
Service Desc	The description of the service for which the warranty is given.
Warranty Category	The user-defined category to which the warranty belongs.
Warranty Start Date	The date from which the warranty coverage starts for the component.
Warranty End Date	The date on which the warranty coverage ends for the component.
Part #	The part to which the component belongs.
Part Serial #	The serial number of the component for which the component warranty reference document is created.
Component #	The number of the component for which the component warranty reference document is created.
Part Description	The textual description of the part.
Component Type	The type to which the component belongs, which can be “Engine”, “APU”, “Landing Gear” or “Others”.
Supplier #	The code of the supplier who gives the warranty coverage.
Supplier Name	The name of the supplier who gives the warranty coverage.

Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select the component warranty reference.
Click the “OK” pushbutton.
