Selecting component warranty for creating claim

This page allows you to select the component warranty for creating the warranty claim. Tell me more.

Select the “Create Component Warranty Claim” link under the “Component Warranty” business component.

The “Select Component Warranty” page appears.

Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box, to search for a component warranty. Data entry in the following fields is optional:

Warranty Reference #	The code identifying the component warranty reference (18). You can enter the component warranty number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all component warranty reference numbers that are similar to the number entered here.
Warranty Type	Use the drop-down list box to select the warranty type for the part. The system lists the options "New", "OEM", "Overhaul" "Repair","Ultimate life" and "Mod". The system retrieves the component warranty reference documents that are of the type selected here.
Part #	The part to which the component belongs (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the part number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all component warranty reference documents that have the part number entered here.
Part Serial #	The serial number of the component for which the component warranty is created (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the part serial number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all component warranty reference documents with the part serial number entered here.
Component #	The number identifying the component for which the component warranty reference document is created (Alphanumeric, 90). You can enter the component ID in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all component warranty reference documents with the component ID entered here.
ATA #	Use the drop-down list box to select the number identifying the ATA chapter to which the component belongs. The system lists all the ATA chapter numbers created in the "Create ATA Chapter" activity of the "Aircraft" business component. The system retrieves all component warranty reference documents with the ATA chapter number selected here.
Part Description	The textual description of the part (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all component warranty reference documents with descriptions that are similar to the description entered here.
Component Type	Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the component, which can be “Engine”, “APU”, “Landing Gear” and “Others”. The system retrieves all component warranty reference documents with the component type selected here.
Supplier #	The code identifying the supplier who provides the warranty coverage (Alphanumeric, 45). You can enter the supplier code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all component warranty reference documents with the supplier code entered here.
Supplier Name	The name of the supplier who provides the warranty coverage (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the supplier name in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the component warranty reference documents with the supplier name entered here.

Click the "Search" pushbutton, to display the search results.

Note: The system retrieves only those component warranty reference documents that are in the "Confirmed" status.

The system displays the following details in the "Search Results" multiline:

Warranty Reference #	The warranty reference document created for the component.
Warranty Type	The warranty type for the part, which could be "New", "OEM", "Overhaul", "Repair", "Ultimate Life" or "Mod".
	New - indicates that the warranty is given by the supplier
	OEM - indicates that the warranty given by the OEM.
	Overhaul - indicates that the warranty is given for the overhaul
	Repair - indicates that the warranty is given for the repair
	Ultimate Life – indicates that the warranty is given for entire life of the component.
	Mod – indicates that the warranty is given for the modification done on the component as suggested by MCR.
Comments	Any additional information pertaining to the warranty for the component (Alphanumeric, 255).
Source	The source from which the part is purchased.
Part #	The part to which the component belongs.
Part Serial #	The serial number of the component for which the component warranty reference document is created.
Component #	The number of the component for which the component warranty reference document is created.
ATA #	The ATA chapter to which the component belongs.
Part Description	The textual description of the part.
Supplier #	The code of the supplier who provides the warranty coverage.
Supplier Name	The name of the supplier who provides the warranty coverage.
Component Type	The type to which the component belongs, which can be “Engine”, “APU”, “Landing Gear” or “Others”.

Selecting component warranty for creating claim - An overview

The warranty claim is a document created for raising claim on the defective component, with reference to the warranty coverage details specified in the 'Component Warranty'.

You can carry out a search based on the warranty reference number, the warranty type, part number, part serial number, component ID, ATA chapter number, part description, component type, supplier code and the supplier name. The system retrieves the search results in the multiline
