Entering the serial number and lot number details

This page allows you to enter the serial number and lot number details, based on the line number selected. Tell me more.
Select the “Edit Serial # / Lot # Details” link at the bottom of the “Edit Inter warehouse Stock Transfer” page.
The “Serial #/Lot # Details “ page appears.
The system displays the following:

Date Format |
The format in which the date fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |

The system displays the following in the “Stock Transfer Information” group box: |

Stock Transfer # |
The number identifying the stock transfer number containing parts, which are serial number-controlled or lot number-controlled |
|
From Stocking Point |
The organization unit which, issues the stock in the inter warehouse stock transfer |
|
From Warehouse # |
The number identifying the warehouse from where the stock is transferred |
|
To Stocking Point |
The organization unit which, receives the stock in the inter warehouse stock transfer. |
Enter the following:

Line # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the line number of the stock transfer which contains the part for which you wish to enter the serial or lot number details. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to retrieve the part details selected.

The number identifying the part |

Part Control Type |
The part control type, which could be serial number-controlled or lot number-controlled. |

The condition in which the part is preferred |

The number identifying the warehouse which receives the stock |

The total quantity of the stock transferred |

Stock Status |
The user-defined stock status of the stock transferred |
Enter the following in the “Storage Information” multiline:

Lot # |
A unique number identifying the lot number of the part (Alphanumeric, 40). If “From Warehouse #” is “Free” and the part is lot-controlled, the lot number must exist in the specified “From Warehouse #”. |

If “From Warehouse #” is “Normal” and “WH-Zone #” is ”Free”, the lot number must exist in the specified “WH-Zone #”. |

A unique number identifying the serial number of the part (Alphanumeric, 40). If “From Warehouse #” is “Free” and the part is serial-controlled, the serial number must exist in the specified “From Warehouse #”. |

Quantity |
The quantity of the stock transfer (Decimal). Ensure that the total quantity does not exceed the “Transfer Quantity”. The quantity must be positive and greater than zero. |
Note: Fractions can be entered, only if the UOM has been set as “Allow fractions” in the “Create UOM” activity of the “Unit of Measurement Administration” business component.

Note: Ensure that the serial number for a part is not repeated in the multiline.
Only if the part is both Lot # and Serial # number-controlled duplication of the Lot # is allowed.
Check the box beside the “Convert Document Status To Fresh”, to change the status of the document from “Draft” to “Fresh”.
Note: In case the “Convert Document Status To Fresh” box is checked, and if all the mandatory information is not updated, the status of the document will not be updated from “Draft” to “Fresh”.
The system updates the status of the inter warehouse stock transfer document from “Draft” to “Fresh”, only if the “Convert Document Status to Fresh” box is checked and all the mandatory information is entered.
Click the “Update Serial # / Lot # Details” pushbutton, to update the details of the parts that are serial number-controlled and lot number-controlled.
The system displays the following in the “Record Statistics” group box:

Entering the serial number and lot number details of the part – An overview
This page allows you to enter the serial number and lot number details of the part, based on the part line number selected. Serial number and lot number details can be entered, only when the part numbers are serial number-controlled and/or lot number-controlled.
Define serial number and lot number details for a part
Set the status of the stock transfer as “Fresh”
Define serial number and lot number details for a part
You can enter a suitable serial number and lot number for a part based on the line number selected. This number enables you to identify the manufacturer in the supply chain.
In the “Line #” field, select the line number of the stock transfer, which contains the part for which you wish to enter the serial or lot number details.
Set the status of the stock transfer as “Fresh”
You can change the status of the inter warehouse stock transfer from “Draft” to “Fresh”, so that you can send the document for confirmation.
Check the “Convert Document Status to Fresh” box below the multiline, to assign the “Fresh” status to the inter warehouse stock transfer.
Click the “Update Serial # / Lot # Details” pushbutton.
