Setting options for Technical Document System
This page allows you to set options for the technical document systems.
Select the “Set Tech Doc System Options” link under the “Technical Document Interface” business component.
The “Set Tech Doc System” page appears.
Enter the following fields in the “Tech Doc System Details” group box:
Tech Doc System |
Use the drop-down list box to select the technical document system through which you wish to view the source document details. Mandatory. The system lists options such as “Jouve”, “Airnav” and “ePubs”. By default, the system displays the previously saved value if exists, else leaves the field blank. |
Integration Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the integration type of the Tech Doc System with the Maintenance & Engineering Application. The system lists the options “View AMM Reference” and “View Task Card” if the Tech Doc System is set as “Airnav” or “Jouve”. If the Tech Doc System is set as “ePubs”, the system lists the options “View AMM Reference”, “View Task Card” and “Print Task Card”.

User ID |
The login ID for accessing the technical document system. (Alphanumeric, 255). Ensure that a value is entered in this field, if the Tech Doc System is set as “Jouve” or “Airnav”. |
Password |
The password for accessing the technical document system. (Alphanumeric, 255). Ensure that a value is entered in this field, if the Tech Doc System is set as “Jouve” or “Airnav”. |
Home Page URL |
The URL of the document which the user intends to view. (Alphanumeric, 2000). Ensure that a value is entered in this field, if the Tech Doc System is set as “Jouve” or “Airnav”. |
Enter the following fields in the “Tech Doc System Ownership Attributes” group box:
Manufacturer # |
The number identifying the manufacturer whose source document details must be viewed through the selected technical document system (Alphanumeric, 45). Ensure that the manufacturer number entered here is valid as defined in the “Aircraft” business component. This field must not be left blank, if the Tech Doc System is set as “Jouve”. Help facility available. |
The system displays the following field:
Manufacturer # |
The number identifying the manufacturer whose source document details must be viewed through the selected technical document system (Alphanumeric, 45). Ensure that the manufacturer number entered here is valid as defined in the “Aircraft” business component. This field must not be left blank, if the Tech Doc System is set as “Jouve”. Help facility available. |
Manufacturer Name |
The name of the manufacturer. The system retrieves and displays the manufacturer name corresponding to the manufacturer number, from the “Aircraft” business component. |
Enter the following fields:
Customer Name |
The login ID of the customer, using which the Tech Doc System can be viewed. (Alphanumeric, 40) Help facility available. |
Reference Doc Type |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the type of the reference document. The system lists the option “AMM”. The system leaves the field blank by default. Ensure that a value is selected in this field, if the Tech Doc System is set as “Jouve” or “Airnav”. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton, to retrieve the details (if any) for the selected technical document system.
Note: Ensure that the “Tech Doc System”, Integration Type and manufacturer number are not modified after clicking the “Get Details” pushbutton, if the Tech Doc System is set as “Jouve”.
On clicking the “Get Details” pushbutton, the system automatically retrieves the following details (if available) for the selected “Tech Doc System”, in the “Tech Doc Interface Parameter Details” multiline:
Parameter |
The parameter specific to the Tech Doc System. If Tech Doc System is set as “Airnav” and Integration Type is selected as “View AMM Reference”, the system displays the following parameters in the order given below:
If Tech Doc System is selected as “Jouve” and the Integration Type is selected as “View AMM Reference” or “View Task Card”, the system displays the following parameters:
If Tech Doc System is selected as “Epubs” and Integration Type is set as “View AMM Reference”, “View Task Card” or “Print Task Card”, the system displays the following parameters:

Parameter Description |
The description of the parameter. If Tech Doc System is selected as “Airnav” and the Integration Type is selected as “View AMM Reference”, the system displays the following values in the order given below:
If Tech Doc System is selected as “Jouve” and the Integration Type is selected as “View AMM Reference” or “View Task Card”, the system displays the following values for launching the Interface:
If Tech Doc System is set as “Epubs” and Integration Type is selected as “View AMM Reference”, “View Task Card” or “Print Task Card”, the system displays the values:

Permitted Value |
The permitted value of the parameter. If the Tech Doc System is selected as “Airnav” and the Integration Type is selected as “View AMM Reference”, the system displays the string Enter ‘1’ for ‘True’ and ‘0’ for ‘False’ for the parameters ”Force” and “Open Administrator”. |
Enter the followings fields in the multiline:
Value |
The value defined for the parameter. (Alphanumeric, 2000). Ensure that the value entered here is either ‘1’ or ‘0’, for the parameters “Force” and “Open Administrator”. If the Tech Doc System is selected as “Airnav” and the Integration Type is selected as “View AMM Reference”, the system retrieves and displays the same login user for parameters “Group Name” and “User Name”. |
Remarks |
Any additional remarks pertaining to the technical document system. (Alphanumeric, 150). |
Enter the following fields in the “Default Tech Doc System Settings” group box:
Enable Default TDS |
Use the drop-down list box and select “Yes” to specify whether the technical document must be defaulted on launch of the page or not. Otherwise select the option “No”. By default, the system displays the previously saved value if exists, else leaves the field blank. |
Default Tech Doc System |
Use the drop-down list box to select the default technical document system. The system lists the options such as “Jouve”, “Airnav” and “ePubs”. By default, the system displays the previously saved value if exists, else leaves the field blank. Ensure that a value is selected in this field, if the “Enable Default TDS” drop-down list box is set as “Yes”. |
Default Customer |
The name of the customer, set as default. (Alphanumeric, 40) Help facility available. |
Click the “Set Options” pushbutton to update the technical document system options.
Note: The system displays an error message if any other concurrent user attempts to simultaneously modify the details in this page.
The system displays the following fields in the “Record Statistics” group box:
Last Modified By |
The login ID of the user who last modified the technical document system options. |
Last Modified Date |
The date on which the technical document system options were last modified. |
