Basics of using a typical web page

Using Online Help

This page allows you to select a zone belonging to a warehouse, and transfer the same to the field in which it is required.

You can retrieve the zone details by specifying the search criteria such as warehouse number, description, and the type of zone. Based on the filter criteria entered, the warehouse and its zone details are retrieved. You can select the required warehouse and zone from the list displayed. On confirmation, the selected warehouse and zone are transferred to the required page.

The “Help on Warehouse - Zone” page appears.

Warehouse # 

The code identifying the warehouse to which the zone belongs (Alphanumeric, 10). You can enter the warehouse code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the warehouse codes whose values are similar to the value entered here. 

Warehouse Category 

Use the drop-down list box to specify the category to which the warehouse belongs. The system displays all the categories defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity. The system retrieves all the warehouses belonging to the category selected here. Leave the field blank if you wish to retrieve the warehouse details irrespective of the category.  

Description 

The description of the warehouse (Alphanumeric, 80). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the warehouses whose descriptions are similar to the description entered here. 

Zone Type 

The storage type of the zone, which could be one of the following: 

 
  • Normal - In this type of zone, bins can be defined within the zone for storing the parts.

 

  • Free - In this type of zone, parts are stored in bulk. Bins cannot be defined in these zones.

Trading Partner #

The unique code identifying the trading partner which could be supplier code or customer code (Alphanumeric 45). You can enter the code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the records containing the trading partner number entered here.

Trading Partner Name

The name of the trading partner, which could be either a customer name or supplier name (Alphanumeric 40). You can enter the trading partner name in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the records containing the trading partner name entered here.

Display Option

Use the drop-down list box to select the display option based on which the warehouse codes are retrieved. The system lists the following options:

  • By Warehouse – select this option to retrieve all the warehouses and their details. The system ignores the trading partner details even if they are given in the search criteria.

  • By Trading Partner – select this option to retrieve all the warehouses mapped to a trading partner if a trading partner is specified in the search criteria. If a trading partner is not specified in the search criteria, the system retrieves all warehouses with trading partner details.

The system displays the option “By warehouse” by default.

The system fills in the following fields in the “Search Results” multiline, based on the filter criteria entered:

Warehouse #

The code identifying the warehouse retrieved by the system.

Description

The textual description of the warehouse.

Warehouse Category

The category to which the warehouse belongs.

WH – Zone #

The code identifying the zone in the warehouse.

Zone Description

The textual description of the zone.

Zone Type

The type of the zone, which could be either “Free” or “Normal”.

Trading Partner #

The code identifying the trading partner which could be supplier code or customer code.

Trading Partner Name

The name of the trading partner, which could be either a customer name or supplier name.
