This page allows you to select a bin in the zone belonging to a warehouse. At the time of issuing a particular part or variant from the warehouse, the availability of the part will first be checked in the various zones, and then in the bins based on the priority assigned.
You can retrieve the bin details by specifying the search criteria such as warehouse number, description, warehouse type, category, zone number and bin number. Based on the filter criteria entered the warehouse bin details are retrieved. You can select the warehouse, zone and bin from the list displayed. On confirmation, the selected warehouse zone and bin are transferred to the required page.
Click the lens icon positioned next to the “ Bin #” field in the main screen.
The “Help on Warehouse - Bin” page appears.
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box, to search for a warehouse and its bin. Data entry in the following fields are optional:
Warehouse # |
The code identifying the warehouse (Alphanumeric, 10). You can enter the warehouse code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the warehouse codes whose values are similar to the value entered here. |
Description |
The description of the warehouse (Alphanumeric, 80). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the warehouses whose descriptions are similar to the description entered here. |
Warehouse Type |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the type of the warehouse, which could be “Free” or “Normal”. When parts are stored in bulk in a warehouse, it is known as a “Free” warehouse. A warehouse can be a “Normal” warehouse, when the parts can be divided into zones and bins for storing a variety of parts. The system retrieves all the warehouses of the type specified here. Leave this field blank, if you wish to retrieve details of warehouses irrespective of their type. This field is set to blank by default. |
Warehouse Category |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the category to which the warehouse belongs. The system displays all the categories defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity. The system retrieves all the warehouses belonging to the category selected here. Leave the field blank if you wish to retrieve the warehouse details irrespective of the category. Click the “Search” pushbutton, to display the search results. |
Trading Partner # |
The unique code identifying the trading partner which could be supplier code or customer code (Alphanumeric 45). You can enter the code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the records containing the trading partner number entered here. |
Trading Partner Name |
The name of the trading partner, which could be either a customer name or supplier name (Alphanumeric 40). You can enter the trading partner name in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the records containing the trading partner name entered here. |
Display Option |
Use the drop-down list box to select the display option based on which the warehouse codes are retrieved. The system lists the following options:

Click on "Search" pushbutton, to display the search results.
The system fills in the following fields in the “Search Results” multiline, based on the filter criteria entered:

Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select the warehouse-bin.
Click the “OK” pushbutton.
