Help on Warehouse Code
Using this page, you can retrieve all the warehouses associated with the stocking location or organization units, as defined in the “Storage Administration” business component. You can retrieve the warehouse details by specifying the search criteria such as warehouse number, description, its type and category. Based on the filter criteria entered the warehouse details are retrieved.
You can select the warehouse code from the list displayed. On confirmation, the selected warehouse code is transferred to the required page.
Click the lens icon positioned next to the “Warehouse #” field in the main screen.
The “Help on Warehouse Code” page appears.
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box, to search for a warehouse. Data entry in the following fields are optional:
Warehouse # |
The code identifying the warehouse (Alphanumeric, 10). You can enter the warehouse code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the warehouse codes whose values are similar to the value entered here. |
Description |
The description of the warehouse (Alphanumeric, 80). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the warehouses whose descriptions are similar to the description entered here. |
Warehouse Type |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the type of the warehouse, which could be “Free” or “Normal”. The system retrieves all the warehouses of the type specified here. Leave this field blank if you wish to retrieve details of warehouses irrespective of their type. |
Warehouse Category |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the category to which the warehouse belongs. The system displays all the categories defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity. The system retrieves all the warehouses belonging to the category selected here. Leave the field blank if you wish to retrieve the warehouse details irrespective of the category. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
Warehouse Group |
Use the drop-down list and select the warehouse group. The system lists all the ‘Active’ Warehouse Groups defined under the “Create Quick Codes” activity of the “Storage Administration” business component. The system retrieves all the warehouses belonging to the group selected here. Leave the field blank if you wish to retrieve the warehouse details irrespective of the warehouse group. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
Trading Partner # |
The unique code identifying the trading partner which could be supplier code or customer code (Alphanumeric 45). You can enter the code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the records containing the trading partner number entered here. |
Trading Partner Name |
The name of the trading partner, which could be either a customer name or supplier name (Alphanumeric 40). You can enter the trading partner name in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the records containing the trading partner name entered here. |
Display Option ? |
Use the drop-down list box to select the display option based on which the warehouse codes are retrieved. The system lists the following options:

Click the “Search” pushbutton, to display the search results.
The system fills in the following fields in the “Search Results” multiline, based on the filter criteria entered:

The code identifying the warehouse retrieved by the system. |
Description |
The textual description of the warehouse. |
Warehouse Type |
The type of the warehouse, which could be either “Free” or “Normal”. When parts are stored in bulk in a warehouse, it is known as a “Free” warehouse. A warehouse can be a “Normal” warehouse, when the parts can be divided into zones and bins for storing a variety of parts. |
Warehouse Category |
The category to which the warehouse belongs. |
Trading Partner # |
The code identifying the trading partner which could be supplier code or customer code. |
Trading Partner Name |
The name of the trading partner, which could be either a customer name or supplier name. |
Warehouse Group |
The warehouse group to which the warehouse belongs. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select the warehouse.
Click the “OK” pushbutton.
