Selecting unplanned return for modification
This page allows you to search and select an unplanned return for modification . Tell me more.
Select the “Edit Unplanned Return” link under the “Stock Return” business component.
The “Select Return #” page appears.
Enter the following field in the “Direct Entry” group box, if you are aware of the return number for which you wish to modify details:
Return # |
The number identifying the return document to be modified (Alphanumeric, 18). You can enter the number in full, or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system lists all the return numbers similar to the value entered here. |
Select the “Edit Unplanned Return” link provided beside it, to modify the details of the return.
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box, to search the return: (Data-entry in these fields is optional.)
Return # |
The number identifying the return to be modified (Alphanumeric, 18). You can enter the number in full, or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system lists all the return numbers similar to the value entered here. |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the unplanned return to be modified. The system provides the options: “Draft” “Fresh” and “Blank”. Leave this field blank, to retrieve all the returns available in the login organization unit, irrespective of their status. The system displays “Blank” by default. |
Return Category |
Use the drop-down list box to select the category of the return to be modified. The system lists all the quick codes of the type “Return Category” defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity that are in the “Active” status. |
User Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the user status of the unplanned return to be modified. The system lists all the user status of the “User Status” type defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity that are in the “Active” status. |
Return Warehouse # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the warehouse of the “Unplanned Return” transaction to be modified. If you are working in the Main base, the drop-down list box displays all Active warehouses defined in the Storage Administration component, which are not currently offline. Conversely, if you are working in a Field base, the drop-down list box displays all warehouses mapped to the offline area. The system retrieves all unplanned returns to the warehouse that you select here. |
Return Basis |
Use the drop-down list box to select the basis on which the part is being returned. The system lists values such as "Core", "Excess" and "Returnable". |
Part # |
A unique number identifying the part (Alphanumeric, 40). Ensure that the part number is already defined in the “Create Parts Main Information” activity of the “Part Administration” business component and is in “Active” status. |
Part Type |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the type of the part, which could be "Raw Material”, “Component”, “Consumable”, “Kit”, “Tool”, “Expendable” and “Blank”. The system displays “Blank” by default. |
Trading Partner # |
The code identifying the trading partner (Alphanumeric, 45). You can enter the trading partner number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. |
Reference Receiving Document # |
The number identifying the Receiving Document associated with the reference document. |
Note: Leave all the fields blank, to retrieve all the unplanned return available in the login organization unit.
Click the “Search” pushbutton, to retrieve the search results.
The system displays the following in the “Search Results” multiline based on the search criteria entered:

Return Category |
The category to which the return belongs. |
Status |
The status of the return. |
Warehouse Description |
A textual description of the warehouse. |
User Status |
The user status of the return. |
Trading Partner # |
The code identifying the trading partner. |
Trading Partner Type |
The type of the trading partner, which could be “Supplier” or “Customer”. |
Trading Partner Name |
The name of the trading partner. |
Note: If the “Status” field is left blank, the system retrieves those return documents, which are in "Fresh" or Draft" status.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline, to mark an unplanned return for modifying the details.

Selecting unplanned return for modification – An overview
This page allows you to search and select an unplanned return for modification. If you know the number of the return you wish to modify, you can enter it directly. Otherwise, you can carry out a search based on the number of the return and the status of the return. You can also search based on the type and category of the return, the warehouse in which the return is received, the user status and the part number received. The system retrieves the unplanned returns based on the search criteria entered.
