Selecting new part/ part attribute change request for modification/ confirmation
This page allows you to search and select new part / part attribute change for modification or confirmation.
Select the “Edit/ Confirm New Part/ Attribute Change Request” link under the “Part Administration” business component.
The “Select New Part/ Part Attribute Change Request” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the “User Preferences” business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
Enter the following field in the “Direct Entry” group box, if you are aware of the part number, for which you wish to modify the details.
Request # |
The number identifying the new part/ attribute change request document. This number is generated by the system based on the numbering type, at the time of creating the new part/ attribute change request document. |
Select the “Edit Request” link provided along side to modify the details of the selected request.
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for the request number, for which you wish to modify the details. Data entry in the following fields is optional.
Request # |
The number identifying the new part/ attribute change request document. You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. When you click the “Search” pushbutton, the system displays all the request document numbers that are similar to the value entered here. |
Request Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of request, which can be either “New Part” or “Part Attribute Change”. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
Priority |
Use the drop-down list box to select the priority for the new part/ attribute change request document. The system lists all the “Active” quick codes defined for the quick code type “Request Priority” in the “Create Quick Codes” activity. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
Requested By Emp. |
The name of the employee who requested the new part/ attribute change. You can enter the employee in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. When you click the “Search” pushbutton, the system displays all the request document numbers for which the Requested By Emp. is similar to the value entered here. |
Request Category |
Use the drop-down list box to select the category of the new part/ attribute change request document. The system lists all the “Active” quick codes defined for the quick code type “Request Category” in the “Create Quick Code” activity. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
User Status |
Use the drop-down list box to assign a user-defined status for the new part/ attribute change request document. The system lists all the “Active” quick codes defined for the quick code type “User Status” in the “Create Quick Code” activity. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
Request Date From |
The starting date in the range of new part/ attribute change request document dates from which the new part/ attribute change request document details must be retrieved (Date Format). The date entered must be in the same format as displayed in the “Date Format” field and must be lesser than or equal to the system date and Request Date To. The system displays the 30 days earlier than the current date by default. When you click the “Search” pushbutton, the system lists all the new part/ attribute change request documents that are raised later than this date. |
Request Date To |
The ending date in the range of new part/ attribute change request document dates until which the new part/ attribute change request document must be retrieved (Date Format). The date entered must be in the same format as displayed in the “Date Format” field and must be lesser than or equal to the system date. The system displays the current date by default. When you click the “Search” pushbutton, the system lists all the new part/ attribute change request documents that are raised earlier than this date. |
Affected Part # |
The number identifying the new part number / part number for which attributes change is requested. You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. When you click the “Search” pushbutton, the system displays all the request document numbers for which the “New Part # / Part # “ is similar to the value entered here. |
Part Description |
The textual description of the new part number / part number for which attribute change is requested.. You can enter the part description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the request document numbers for which the “New Part Description / Part Description: similar to the value entered here. |
Click the “Search” pushbutton to retrieve the search results.
Enter the following fields in the “Search Results” multiline
Comments |
Any additional comments pertaining to the confirmation of the new part/ attribute change request document. |
The system retrieves the following in the “Search Results” multiline, based on the search criteria entered.

The date on which the new part/ attribute change document is requested |
Request Type |
The type of request which could be “New Part” or “Part Attribute Change”. |

The category of the new part/ attribute change request document. |
Requested By Emp. |
The name of the employee requesting the new part/ attribute change. |
Affected Part # |
The number identifying the new part number / part number for which attribute change is requested. |
Part Description |
The textual description of the new part number / part number for which attribute change is requested. |
Priority |
The priority for the new part/ attribute change request document. |
User Status |
A user-defined status of the new part/ attribute change request document. |
Note: At least one record must be entered in the multiline
Click the hyperlinked “Request #” in the multiline, to modify the request details
Confirm Request
Check the box in the multiline to select the request for confirmation.
Click the “Confirm Request” pushbutton to confirm the request selected in the multiline.
The system updates the status of the new part/ attribute change request documents as “Confirmed”.
