The “Serial / Lot Details” group box displays the following.

Sl No Controlled

Indicates whether serial numbers are generated for the part.

Sl No Logic

Indicates the method used to generate the serial numbers. It could be “Automatic Generation” or “Manufacturer Sl No”.

 
  • Automatic Generation – indicates that the internal serial number of the part is automatically generated by the system.

 
  • Manufacturer Sl No – indicates that the internal serial number of the part is based on the serial number issued by the manufacturer.

Sl No Type Num

The numbering type corresponding to the “Serial No Generation” transaction type, based on which the serial numbers are generated by the system.

Lot No Controlled

Indicates whether lot numbers are generated for the part.

Lot No Type Num

The numbering type corresponding to the “Lot No Generation” transaction type, based on which the lot numbers are generated by the system.

The system displays the following in the “Basic Details” group box:

Standard Cost

The cost of the part.

Base Currency

The base currency of the login organization unit.

Planning Type

The method in which the part requirement is planned. It could be “Reorder Level or "Min-Max".

 
  • Reorder Level – indicates that the purchase activity is automatically initiated by the system, when the stock level falls below the fixed reorder quantity.

 
  • Min – Max – indicates that a purchase activity is automatically initiated by the system, whenever the stock on hand falls below the minimum level.

 
  • None – indicates that the planning is not applicable for the part.

Expense Type

The type of expense incurred while purchasing the part, which could be “Capital” or “Revenue”.

Stock UOM

The unit of measurement in which the part is stocked in the inventory.

Issue Basis

The basis on which the part is issued. This could be one of the following:

  • Returnable –indicates that the part is returnable after issue

  • Core returnable –indicates that the part is of type “Component” that must be returned

  • Non-Returnable - indicates that the part is non-returnable after issue.

Part Account Group

The number identifying the part account group associated to the part

Primary Part Group

The identification number of the primary part group.

The “Shelf Life Details” group box displays the following.

Shelf Life Unit

The unit of measurement of the shelf life of the part, which could be “Years”, “Months”, “Weeks” or “Days”.

Designed Shelf Life

The maximum period of time, for which a part can be maintained on the shelf without any deterioration of its basic characteristics.

Minimum Shelf Life

The minimum period of time, for which a part can be maintained on the shelf without any deterioration of its basic characteristics.

Alert Value

A value, which indicates that the minimum shelf life of the part is nearing expiry.

Shelf Life Extendable?

Indicates whether the shelf life of the part can be extended for a longer duration.
