Maintain Purchase Information – A summary of the activity

This activity allows you to update the purchase information of the selected part. The purchase information of the part can be entered when the source of the part is specified as ‘purchase’. Whether the part can be purchasable is specified in the "Maintain Planning Information" activity. A personnel from the purchase department updates the purchase information of a part.

The “Select Part #” page allows you to search and select a part number for updating the purchase information. You can enter the purchase, sales and the UOM conversion details of the part in the “Maintain Purchase Information”, “Maintain Sales Information” and the “Maintain UOM Conversion” pages.

You can also automatically map a part to the preferred supplier, in this activity.

You are provided with Help facility for selecting the Material controller, the unit of measurement, the standard warehouse and Supplier.

The purchase information of the part can be entered when the source of the part is specified as ‘purchase’ in the "Maintain Planning Information" activity.

Maintain sales information

The sales information can be entered when the usage of the part is specified as ‘saleable’ in the "Maintain Planning Information" activity.

Maintain UOM conversion

While there can be multiple UOMs defined for a part, only one conversion factor can be defined for a given combination of UOMs. You can enter the unit of measurement (UOM) conversion factor for a given combination of UOMs, for a selected part.
