Entering reference document details for part
This page allows you to enter the reference document details or a part. Tell me more.
Select the “Maintain References” link at the bottom of the “Create Part Main Information” or "Edit References" link at the bottom of the “Edit Main Information” page.
The “Edit References” page appears.
The system displays the following fields:
Part # |
The part for which the reference details must be specified. |
Part Description |
The textual description of the part. |
Part Category |
The category to which the part belongs. |
Part Type |
The type of the part. |
Enter the following fields in the “Reference Document Details” multiline:
Reference Doc Type |
Use the drop-down list to select the type of the reference document. Mandatory. The system lists all the document type that are defined in the “Create Reference Document Type” activity of the “Common Master” component. Data selection in this field is mandatory. |
Document ID |
The name of the referenced document containing details of the part (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. |
Note: The combination of the reference document type and the reference document number must be unique in the multiline.
File Name |
The name of the file that contain the referenced document (Alphanumeric, 30). Mandatory. |

Remarks |
Any remark or comment regarding the reference document association (Alphanumeric, 255). |
Click the “Edit References” pushbutton to update the reference details.

Select the "View File" link at the bottom of the page to upload the reference document files.
Refer the "View File - An overview" under the "Object Attachments" business component.
Entering reference document details for part – An overview
This page allows you to enter the reference information for the part. Referencing documents, manuals, drawings, etc. for the part are recorded as the reference information in this page.
You can specify the document type, the reference document number, the file name of the document and comments. The system updates the details and stores the name of the currently logged in user and the current server date.
