This page allows you to edit the details of the part group type.
Select the “Edit Group Type” link under the “Part Administration” business component.
The “Edit Group Type” page appears.
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for a group type. Data entry in the following fields is optional:
Group Type |
The code identifying the type of the part group (Alphanumeric, 20). You can enter the group type in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all group types that are similar to the number entered here. Leave the field blank to retrieve the group type irrespective of the type entered. |
Group Type Description |
The description of the group type (Alphanumeric, 80). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the group types with the description similar to the description entered here. Leave the field blank to retrieve the group type irrespective of the description entered. |
Usage |
Use the drop-down list box to select the usage of the group type. The system lists the options “Maintenance", "Operation", "Inventory", “Purchase”, “Sales”, “Accounting” and "Others". The system retrieves the group types according to the option selected here. Leave the field blank to retrieve the group type irrespective of the usage. |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the group type. The system lists the options “Active” and “Inactive”. Leave the field blank to retrieve the group type irrespective of the status. |
Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the search results.
The system retrieves the following in the “Group Type Details” multiline, based on the search criteria entered.
Group Type |
The code identifying the group type defined in the system. |
Note: If the search criteria are not entered, the system displays the group type as “Flight Log Book” or “Tech Log Book”, and all the details associated with the specified group type are displayed in the respective fields.
Modify the following fields if required:

Usage |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the usage of the group type. The system lists the options “Maintenance", "Operation", "Inventory", “Purchase”, “Sales”, “Accounting” and "Others". |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the status of the group type. The system lists the options “Active” and “Inactive”. |
The system displays the following fields:
Created By |
The name of the user who created the group type |
Created Date |
The date on which the group type is created |
Last Modified By |
The name of the user who last modified the group type details |
Last Modified Date |
The date on which the group type details were last modified |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select the group type for deletion.
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the multiline to delete the group type.
Click the “Edit Group Type” pushbutton to edit the group type details.

Select the “Build Part Group Hierarchy” link at the bottom of the page to build the part group hierarchy.
