Selecting a part for updating UOM conversion information

This page allows you to search and select a part number to update the UOM conversion details. Tell me more.

Select the “Maintain UOM Conversion” link under the “Part Administration” business component.

The “Select Part #” page appears.

Enter the following field in the “Direct Entry” group box if you are aware of the exact part number, for which you wish to update UOM conversion information.

Part #

The number identifying the part for which you wish to update the UOM conversion information (Alphanumeric, 40).

Select the “Maintain UOM Conversion” link provided alongside, to update the UOM conversion information.
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for the part number for which you wish to update UOM conversion information. Data entry in the following fields is optional.

Part #	The number identifying the part for which you wish to update UOM conversion details (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the part numbers that are similar to the value entered here.
Manufacturer Part #	The manufacturer part number of the part for which you wish to update UOM conversion details (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the part numbers that have manufacturer part numbers similar to the value entered here.
Part Description	The description of the part for which you wish to update UOM conversion details (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the part numbers that have part description similar to the value entered here.
Key Word	The key word of the part for which you wish to update UOM conversion details (Alphanumeric, 25). You can enter the key word in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the part numbers that have key words similar to the value entered here.
Part Type	Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the part for which you wish to update UOM conversion details. The part could be of type “Raw Material”, “Component”, “Expendable”, “Tool”, “Consumable”, “Kit” or "Miscellaneous".
Part Category	Use the drop-down list box to select the category of the part for which you wish to update UOM conversion details. The system lists all the part categories defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity, which are in “Active” status.
Reference Status	Use the drop-down list box to select the reference status of the part for which you wish to update UOM conversion details. The reference status of the part can be “Under Creation” or “Active”. Leave the field blank, to retrieve all the part numbers irrespective of their status.
Planning Status	Use the drop-down list box to select the planning status of the part for which you wish to update UOM conversion details. The planning status of the part could be “Active”, “Inactive” or “Fresh”. Leave the field blank, to retrieve all the part numbers irrespective of their status.
Strip Part #	The stripped number of the part without any special characters (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the parts having strip part number that is similar to the value entered here.

Note: Leave all the fields blank, if you wish to retrieve all the part numbers available in the database.

Click the “Search” pushbutton to retrieve the search results.

Based on the search criteria, the system displays all the part numbers that are in the “Active” or “Under Creation” status, in the “Search Results” multiline:

Part #	The number identifying the part.
Part Description	A textual description of the part.
Key Word	The keyword used to identify the part easily.
Part Type	The type of the part.
Part Category	The category to which the part belongs.

Click the hyperlinked part number in the multiline, to update the UOM conversion information.

Selecting a part for updating UOM conversion information – An overview

If you know the exact part number, you can enter it directly. Otherwise, you can carry out a search based on the part number, the part number issued by the manufacturer, the description of the part, the key word identifying the part, the type of the part, the category of the part and the reference and the planning status of the part.

Based on the search criteria, the system retrieves all the part numbers, which are in the “Under Creation” or “Active” status.
