Selecting numbering type for viewing
This page allows you to select the numbering type for viewing. Tell me more
Select the “View Numbering Class” link under the “Document Numbering Class” business component.
The “Numbering Type Selection” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user id. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the Enterprise Modeling business component by default. |
Enter the following field in the “Direct Entry” group box if you know the numbering type to be viewed:
Numbering Type |
The code identifying the numbering type (Alphanumeric, 5). |
Select the “View Numbering Type” link provided alongside, to view the numbering type details.
Select the “View Transaction Mapping” link from the bottom of the page to view the transaction types mapped to the numbering class.
Enter the following in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for the numbering type. Data entry in the following fields is optional:
Transaction |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the transaction type mapped to the numbering type. All the transactions across the organization unit for which the numbering type has been defined, are available for selection. The system displays the numbering type, which is mapped to the transaction type specified here. The system leaves this field blank by default. |
Org. Unit Name |
Use the drop down list box to select the organizational unit to which the numbering type is mapped. The system lists all the organizational units, which interacts with the numbering class component. |
Status |
The status of the numbering type. Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the numbering type to be viewed. |

Note: Numbering types that are in "Inactive" status are disabled from future reference in other activities.
Numbering Type |
The code identifying the numbering type to be viewed (Alphanumeric, 5). You can enter the code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system lists all the numbering types that are similar to the value entered here. |
Num Type Description |
The textual description of the numbering type (Alphanumeric, 80). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system lists all the numbering types whose descriptions are similar to the value entered here. |
Prefix |
The prefix for the numbering type (Alphanumeric, 6). You can enter the prefix in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system lists all the numbering types whose prefixes are similar to the value entered here. |
Suffix |
The suffix for the numbering type (Alphanumeric, 6). You can enter the suffix in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system lists all the numbering types whose suffixes are similar to the value entered here. |
Effective From |
The date starting from which the numbering type is effective (Date Format). This date must be in the same format as displayed in the “Date Format” field and must be later than the system date. |
Effective To |
The date till which the numbering type is effective (Date Format). This date must be in the same format as displayed in the “Date Format” field and must be later than the “Effective From” date. |
Note: If all the fields are left blank, the system lists all the numbering types that are defined.
Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the search results.
The system displays the following fields in the “Search Results” multiline based on the search criteria:

Selecting numbering type for viewing – An overview
This page allows you to select the numbering type for viewing. You can directly enter the numbering type if you are aware of the exact value or you can carry out a search using organizational unit, numbering type, its status, description, prefix, suffix and the effective period during which the numbering type is effective. Based on the search criteria, the system displays the numbering type, description and the status in the multiline.
You can select numbering types that are in “Active” or “Inactive” status for viewing.
