Finance Book is a document, which is a repository of all the financial transactions occurring within the company’s internal departments and between the external agencies that is, the suppliers and the customers. This page allows you to search, select and transfer the Finance Book. You can carry out the search using the organization unit number, finance book ID, finance book description, book type and effectivity period. The system retrieves all the finance books, which are in the “Active” status, based on the search criteria entered. On confirmation, the selected finance book is transferred to the required page.
Click the lens icon positioned next to the “Finance Book” field in the main page.
The “Help on Finance Book” page appears.
The system displays the following:

Date Format |
The format in which the date fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
The system displays the following in the “Search Criteria” group box:

Company Code |
The code of the company for which the finance book is required. |

Company Name |
The name of the company for which the finance book is required. |
Enter the following in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for a finance book. Data entry in the following fields is optional:

Org. Unit # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the organization unit for which you need to view the details. The system lists all the organization units, which are associated with the company code and are in the “Active” status. |

Finance Book |
The ID of the finance book (Alphanumeric, 20). |

Finance Book Description |
The description of the finance book (Alphanumeric, 128). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves the finance books for the description entered. |

Book Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the book type. The system lists the options, “Posting FB”, “Main FB”, “Consolidation FB”. |

Status Effective From |
The date from which the finance book status is effective (Date format). |
Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the search results in the multiline.
The system displays the following fields in the “Search Results” multiline:
Note: If the organization unit is entered, the system displays all active finance books mapped to the company and to the specified organization unit.

Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select the finance book.
