This page allows you to specify the search criteria and select the reason codes that you need to modify. Tell me more
Select the “Edit Reason Code” link under the “Logistics Common Master” business component.
The “Edit Reason Codes” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box, to search for the reason codes. Entry in the following fields is optional.
Reason Code Type |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the type of reason code that you need to modify. The system provides the options, “Rejection”, “Quarantine”, "Scrap Note", "Stock Correction" and "Purchase". The system retrieves all the reason codes of the type specified here, which is already defined in the “Create Reason Code” activity of the current business component. The system sets the field to “Rejection” by default. |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the status of the reason code that you need to modify. The system lists the options “Active” and “Inactive”. The system retrieves all the reason codes of the status specified here. You can leave this field blank to retrieve all the reason codes irrespective of their status. |
Click the “Search” pushbutton, to display the search results in the multiline.
The system displays the following field in the “Search Results” multiline:
Reason Code |
The reason code retrieved by the system. |
Modify the following fields, if required:
Reason Description |
The textual description of the reason code (Alphanumeric, 255). Mandatory. |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the status of the reason code, to either “Active” or “Inactive”. |

Set the status as “Inactive”, if you wish to disable this reason code from future reference in other activities. However, if the reason code is defined by the system, you cannot reset its status to ‘Inactive’. |
The system displays the following:
Created By |
The name of the user who created the reason code. |
Created Date |
The date, in the specified date format, on which the reason code was created. |
Last Modified By |
The name of the user who last modified the reason code. |
Last Modified Date |
The date, in the specified date format, on which the reason code was last modified. |
Click the “Edit Reason Codes” pushbutton, to update the modified details of the reason codes.
The system updates the modifications and stores the login user name and the current server date as the last modified date.
Activate or inactivate reason code
Activate or inactivate reason code
You can change the status of the reason code to “Active” or “Inactive”.
Enter the filter criteria to search for reason codes.
Click the “Search” pushbutton.
The system retrieves the reason codes in the “Search Results” multiline.
Set the “Status” field in the multiline to “Active”, to activate the reason code.
Set the “Status” field in the multiline to “Inactive”, to inactivate the reason code.
Click the “Edit Reason Codes” pushbutton.
