This page allows you to specify the search criteria and select the certificate types that you need to modify. Tell me more.
Select the “Edit Certificate Type” link under the “Logistics Common Master” business component.
The “Edit Certificate Type” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box, to search for the certificate types. Entry in the following fields is optional.
Certificate For |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the whether the certificate type that you need to modify is applicable for the part or the supplier. The system provides the options, “Part” and “Supplier”. The system retrieves all the certificate types that are defined in the “Create Certificate Type” activity for the part or supplier, as specified here. |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the status of the certificate type that you need to retrieve. The system lists the options “Active” and “Inactive”. The system retrieves all the certificate types that are in the status specified here. You can leave this field blank, to retrieve certificate types irrespective of their status. |
CoM Numbering Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the CoM numbering type to be used for generation of certificate # for a new certificate of maintenance document in the “Issue Certificates” activity of Shop Work Order. The drop-down list box displays the numbering types defined for the ‘Certificate of Maintenance' transaction in the Create Numbering Type activity under Document Numbering Class. Note: You can select a numbering type only if “Certificate For” is ‘Part'. |
Click the “Search” pushbutton, to display the search results in the multiline.
The system displays the following field in the “Search Results” multiline:
Certificate Type |
The certificate type retrieved by the system. |
Modify the following fields, if required:
Description |
The textual description of the certificate type (Alphanumeric, 80). Mandatory. |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the status of the certificate type, to either “Active” or “Inactive”. |

Set the status as “Inactive”, if you wish to disable this certificate type from future reference in other activities. |
The system displays the following:
Created By |
The name of the user who created the certificate type. |
Created Date |
The date, in the specified date format, on which the certificate type was created. |
Last Modified By |
The name of the user who last modified the certificate type. |
Last Modified Date |
The date, in the specified date format, on which the certificate type was last modified. |
Click the “Edit Certificate Type” pushbutton, to update the modified details of the certificate types.
The system updates the modifications and stores the login user name and the current server date as the last modified date.
Activate or inactivate certificate type

You can change the status of the certificate type to “Active” or “Inactive.
Enter the filter criteria to search for certificate types.
Click the “Search” pushbutton.
The system retrieves the certificate types in the “Search Results” multiline.
Set the “Status” field in the multiline to “Active”, to activate the certificate type.
Set the “Status” field in the multiline to “Inactive”, to inactivate the certificate type.
Click the “Edit Certificate Type” pushbutton.
