Chapter x – Configure Printer

This section dwells on the Logistics Common Master business component and its activity Configure Printer.

Configure Printer – A summary of the activity

This activity enables users to connect printers to warehouses, zones and bins in order to facilitate printing of MMD reports/stock documents. Users can also specify the time during the day it is operational, the transaction types that require printing and, the number of copies to be produced for a document.

Thus, this activity provides seamless access to documents/information by cutting delays owing to lack of hardware.

Configuring printer

ØSelect the “Configure Printer” link under the “Logistics Common Master” business component.

The “Configure Printer” page appears.

ØEnter the following in the Search Criteria” group box to retrieve warehouses/zones for which you wish setup a printer facility/update previously configured printer details.

Warehouse #

The warehouse # to which the printer must be connected. You can enter the warehouse # in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves those warehouses with #s similar to the # entered here.

Zone #

The zone # in the warehouse to which the printer must be connected. You can enter the zone # in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves those zones with #s similar to the # entered here.

Transaction Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the transaction type of documents that can be routed to the printer for producing hard copies. The drop-down list box displays those transaction types with “Print MMD” is set as 1/2/3 under the category MMD Reports in the Set Inventory Process Parameters activity of Logistics Common Master business component.

ØClick the "Search” pushbutton to retrieve warehouses/zones that match the search criteria.

ØAlternatively, you may enter the following in the multiline.

Warehouse #

The warehouse to which you want to connect the printer.

Note: The warehouse must be currently valid and Active as defined in Storage Administration.

Zone #

The zone in the warehouse to which you want to connect the printer.

Note: The zone must be currently valid and Active as defined in Storage Administration. The zone must also be valid for the warehouse.

Transaction Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the transaction type of documents of which the printer must produce copies. Mandatory. The drop-down list box lists those transaction types for which the printer can generate copies.

Work Center #

The work center to which you want to connect the printer.

From Time

The time of the day beginning which the printer is operational.

Note: Both From Time and To Time are mutually mandatory fields.

To Time

The time of the day ending which the printer is shut down.

Note: Both From Time and To Time are mutually mandatory fields.

Printer

The printer that you wish to connect to the warehouse for producing copies of documents. Mandatory.

No. of Copies

The number of copies of a document that the printer can automatically produce. By default, this field will display ‘1’.

The multiline displays the following.

Time Zone

The time zone of the station associated to the storage location of the warehouse at which the printer is located.

Station

The station associated to the storage location of the warehouse at which the printer is located.

Created By

The login user who created the configuration for the printer.

Created Date

The date on which the configuration for the printer was created.

Last Modified By

The login user who most recently modified the configuration for the printer.

Last Modified Date

The date on which the configuration for the printer was most recently modified.
