Authoring repair procedure
This page allows you to modify the non-standard task details of tasks and sub-tasks.
Select
the “Author Repair Procedure” link in the “Plan Gate Maintenance” page.
The “Author Repair Procedure” page appears.
Note: You cannot launch this page:
If the status of the execution document is in “Terminated” status
If the task is a “Standard Task”.
If the non-standard task has a sub-task in "Signed-Off" status
If the non-standard task does not belong to the current execution document.
The system displays the following in the “Reference Details” group box:
Ref. Doc Type |
The type of the reference document for the non standard task created, which can be “Hangar Work Order”, “Component Work Order”, "Technical Log" , “ Central Discrepancy Processing" , "Line Planning & Control” & “Others”. |
Ref. Doc # |
The number identifying the reference document (Alphanumeric, 40). |
Associated Discrepancy # |
The number identifying the associated discrepancy. |
Discrepancy Description |
The textual description of the discrepancy. |
Aircraft Reg # |
The aircraft registration number. |
Component # |
The component against which the work order is raised (Alphanumeric, 90). |
Part # |
The part number to which the component belongs (Alphanumeric, 40). |
Serial # |
The serial number of the component (Alphanumeric, 40). |
Enter the following fields in the
“Task Details” group box:
Note: The system retrieves the non-standard task details from the “Task Master” business component.
Note: Ensure that the sub task is not signed-off for the selected task.
Task Description |
The textual description of the non-standard task (Alphanumeric, 150). |
Long Description |
The long description of the non-standard task. Zoom facility available. |
Task Category |
Use the drop-down list box to select the category of the task. Mandatory. The system lists all the categories that are in the “Active” status, created in the “Create Quick Codes” activity. |
Exec. Phase |
Use the drop-down list box to select the execution phase of the task. Mandatory. The system lists the following options:
The system sets this field to “Regular” by default. |
Est. Elapsed Time |
The time estimated to complete the task (Time Format). Mandatory. Ensure that the value entered is positive. By default, the system displays ‘1’. The system displays the greatest of the elapsed time values specified for the work units. The total time estimated for completing the task (Decimal). The estimated elapsed time also includes time required for performing pre-execution or post-execution activities. Use the drop-down list box provided alongside, to specify the unit of measurement for the time allotted for the task. The system displays the options “Minutes”, “Hours” and “Days” and sets the field to “Hours” by default. |
Est. Man Hours |
The total man-hours estimated to complete the task (Decimal). The total man-hours estimated for “Skill” type resources to complete the task (Decimal). Ensure that the value entered is positive. You can provide a resource wise breakup for the total estimated man-hours, in the “Resource Information” page. If the resource details are entered in the “Resource Information” page, the system sets the field to the estimated man-hours, or the sum total of the estimated duration entered for ‘Skill’ type resources, whichever is greater. By default, the system displays ‘1’. The sum of the estimated man-hours specified for the work units. |
Note: The system retrieves the non-standard task, which are in “Fresh”, “Schedule” or “In-Progress” status.
The system displays the following fields:
Task # |
The number identifying the non-standard task that must be performed for work order execution (Alphanumeric, 30). |
Task Count |
The task count, which decreases or increases based on clicking the “Previous” or “Next” pushbutton. |
Work Center # |
The number identifying the work center primarily responsible for executing the work unit (Alphanumeric, 30). |
ATA # |
The ATA chapter number to indicate the system on which the task has to be performed (Alphanumeric, 16). |
Click the “Previous” pushbutton to
retrieve the previous non-standard task generated in the execution document.
Click the “Next” pushbutton to retrieve
the next non-standard task generated in the execution document.
Note: The system will display an error message, on reaching the first non-standard task on clicking the “Previous” pushbutton and on reaching the last non-standard task on clicking the “Next” pushbutton.
Enter
the following details in the “Sub-Task Details” multiline:
Seq. # |
The sequence in which the sub tasks should be performed, while executing the maintenance task (Integer). Mandatory for a sub task. Ensure that the sequence number is a positive integer and is unique in the multiline. If you leave the sequence number blank, the system automatically assigns a sequence number to each of them, in the order in which they are entered in the multiline. For any random entry of sequence numbers, the system assigns continuous sequence numbers starting from “1”. |
Sub Tasks |
The sub task that has to be performed while executing the maintenance task (Alphanumeric, 2000). |
Resource Group |
Use the drop-down list box to select the resource group for performing the sign-off of the sub task. Mandatory for a sub task. The system displays the value by default based on the values set in the "Set Options" page, which can be the following options: The system sets this field to “Mechanic” by default. |
Skill # |
The number identifying the skill possessed by the employee. Mandatory for a sub task. Help facility available. |
Document ID |
The name of the reference document, which contain the description, drawing or any other detail about the sub task (Alphanumeric, 40). |
File Name |
The name of the file that contains the document details (Alphanumeric, 30). Help facility available. |
AMM/ CMM Item # |
The aircraft maintenance manual or the component maintenance manual item number of the sub-task (Alphanumeric, 40). |
MPD Item # |
The maintenance planning document item number of the sub-task (Alphanumeric, 40). |
Note: Ensure at least one row in the multiline.

the following in the “Additional Details” group box:

Any additional information pertaining to the non-standard task (Alphanumeric, 2000). Zoom facility available. |
Enter the following in the “Document Attachment
Details” group box:
File Name |
The file name of the document attached to the task (Alphanumeric, 50). Help facility available. |
Click
the “Author Repair Procedure” pushbutton to update the non-standard task
details
Note: Ensure the following:
The Aircraft Reg. # for the execution document is in “Active” status
Ref. Doc # is not in “Hold” status
Enter a valid Skill #, a sub-task and the “Task Description” field.
Select a resource group
A value exists in the “Est. Elapsed Time” and “Est. Man Hrs field”.
The task is in “Fresh” or “Scheduled” status.
Duplication of sub tasks and Seq. #.
The system performs the following functions:
4 Updates the Est. Elapsed Time and the Schedule End Date & Time
4 Checks if another user has modified the task after retrieving the task details.
4 Updates Technical Log and Line Package.
Updates the Task Master with the modified
details and HWO and the CWO for task attributes, if the work order is
in "Fresh" status.
Updates
the task attributes and resource sign off requirements of both Task Master
and the execution document, if the modified work order- task is
a in "Scheduled" or "In-Progress" status.
Select the “Edit CWO Part Requirements”
link at the bottom of the page to modify the part requirements of component
work order.
Select the “Edit HWO Part Requirements”
link at the bottom of the page to modify the part requirements of hangar
work order.
