Date and time conversion
For example, an employee timesheet is reported in Chennai, India while the employee is working on the task at the Bahrain International Airport. The Start Date, Start Time, End Date and End Time for worked and in-direct hours are converted to / displayed in the local time of the execution station, which is the Bahrain International Airport.
A user records timesheet in Chennai at the following time:
Chennai Local Time
Start Date = 24-Feb-2012
Start Time = 900 hours
End Date = 24-Feb-2012
End Time = 1700 hours
However, the system sets these dates and times as per the local time of the Bahrain, which is 2 hours behind Chennai’s time zone as given below.
Bahrain International Airport
Start Date = 24-Feb-2012
Start Time = 1100 hours
End Date = 24-Feb-2012
End Time = 1900 hours
Note: If no time zone definition for the execution station of the task exists in the Common Masters component, the dates and times are set to the current server date and time.
