Using Online Help

Any defect or problem that affects the performance of the aircraft is termed as “Fault”. Faults should be rectified in the shortest time possible to prevent long aircraft downtime. You can achieve this by codifying faults. Faults are codified using a unique identifier and listed in the Fault Isolation Manual under different ATA chapters. Other details, such as the causes, work units like task or standard procedures to rectify the fault and the aircraft model to which the fault code is applicable are also specified along with the fault code. The pilot may use the fault code when reporting a defect for maintenance. Thus the usage of fault codes during fault report either by the flying crew or by the mechanic helps in faster trouble-shooting, easy processing and lesser downtime.

This page allows you to retrieve the details of the fault codes that are already defined in the “Fault Isolation Manual” business component. You can carry out a search based on the fault number, ATA number, fault key word, fault description, fault code category and type. The system displays the fault codes that match the filter criteria and which are in “Active” status.

The "Help on Fault Code" page appears.
