Selecting ATA chapter to create fault code
This page allows you to select the ATA chapter that is already defined. Tell me more.
Select the “Create Fault Codes” link under the “Fault Isolation Manual” business component.
The “Select ATA Chapter” page appears.
Enter the following field in the “Direct Entry” group box:
ATA # |
The number identifying the ATA chapter under which the fault code must be grouped (Alphanumeric, 16). Ensure the ATA chapter number specified here is already defined in the “Create ATA Chapter” activity in the “Aircraft” business component. |
Click the "Create Fault Code" link provided alongside the ATA # field.
To search for the fault code
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for an ATA chapter. Entry in these fields is optional.

The starting ATA chapter number in the range of ATA chapter numbers (Alphanumeric, 16). You can enter the ATA chapter number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the ATA chapters, in “Active” status, which has numbers equal to or higher than the number entered here. Leave this field blank to search irrespective of the starting ATA chapter number. |
ATA # : To |
The ending ATA chapter number in the range of ATA chapter numbers (Alphanumeric, 16). You can enter the ATA chapter number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the ATA chapters, in “Active” status, which has numbers equal to or lower than the number entered here. Leave this field blank to search irrespective of the ending ATA chapter number. |
Chapter Description |
The textual description of the ATA chapter (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the ATA chapters that match the description entered here. Leave this field blank to search irrespective of the ATA chapter description. |
Note: Leave all the fields blank to retrieve all the ATA chapters, which are in the “Active” status and defined in the “Aircraft” business component.

This page allows you to select the ATA chapter that is already defined in the “Create ATA Chapter” activity in the “Aircraft” business component. The fault code created in this activity will be arranged under the selected ATA chapter. If you know the ATA chapter number, you can directly enter it. Otherwise, you can carry out a search based on a range of ATA chapter numbers and ATA chapter description. The system displays the ATA chapters, which are in “Active” status and match the filter criteria.

Fault codes are grouped ATA chapter-wise in the fault isolation manual.
Enter the ATA chapter number under which you wish to group the fault code in the “Direct Entry” or “Search Criteria” group box.
Select the ATA chapter listed in the multiline.
Select the “Create Fault Code” link to create the fault code under the selected ATA chapter.
